God, what a mistake it was hiring that guy; I'll be devastated if for some inexplicable reason he's not fired as soon as the post-season is over.
His sole reason for existence was to replace Tito's ability to keep the veteran players/stars in line and productive (when they and the team ungraciously ran him out of town on a rail). However, since he was a complete and total clusterfuck in that regard, and since the front office has signaled that they're going to try to return to the kind of statistical, Bill Jamesian analysis that got them two World Series rings... a retrograde nitwit like Valentine has no place on a youthful rebuilding team in 2013. He honestly has no place on any major league team, but for some reason every few years some suckers give the guy a contract...
