Cisse!

Crud. The Baseball World Cup was held again in 2011 without me noticing, and now it has been cancelled in favor of an expanded World Baseball Classic. The Netherlands will forever hold the crown.

There should be a blog that covers every World Cup, so nobody misses such championships as soccer's VIVA World Cup for "stateless federations" that aren't in FIFA. The next one's being held this year in Kurdistan. Go Occitania!

Petr Cech has only just seen it too.

Terrell Suggs of the Ravens tore his achilles playing hoops. Shut down Balls so Hard University for the 2012-13 year.

After the season is over, every athlete should be wrapped up in bubble wrap and left in a warehouse until its time to break them out again for my entertainment.

Goal of the season. Hard luck, Crouchy. Nice try, Suarez.

Just met Nick Saban. He is recruiting a player where I teach. I know he always comes across on the sidelines and a Douche. Guess what, he is in real life too.

Three more.

Fellas. Another mere 12-15K beyond the dollar count we got going, you can get Jessica Dorrell to hop on a Harley with him.

Let's pass the durn basket. Or Hoss Cartwright's hat.

Country roads, take me home.

Is this the worst umpire call in MLB history?

Mariano Rivera hurt his knee shagging fly balls during batting practice (which he's done for years in place of running).

Peter Gammons was recently saying that the umpires were better than ever, so just ignore this.

Colt McCoy's "fate as a former starter was sealed when his father sounded off about the club's handling of his concussion in the Pittsburgh game on Dec. 8," reports Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland.

I knew that Brad McCoy's stage parent act was a bad idea.

Probably not the worst in history, but pretty bad nonetheless. It looked like Welke had his positioning right, I think he suffered a mental lapse on the play, and just blew the call. It happens. In any league other than MLB, the umpire that made the call will realize he's screwed up and call his partners together to "discuss" it. He will then admit that he really screwed up and reverse himself. It just doesn't happen in MLB baseball, but I would hope he gets a 'phone call from the supervisor of umpires. Welke is usually a better umpire than this.

In case yerfatma's link isn't working for you (it is not working for me), here is that amazing Cisse goal.

Absolutely amazing goal. Stuff like that is why it's called the beautiful game IMO.
