College Football Players Save Child in Car: Jack Long and Shane Simpson, two defensive backs for the Missouri Western State University football team, helped free a child who'd been locked in a car in 95 degree weather on Aug. 23. "We were hitting the glass as hard as we could and nothing," grandmother Teresa Gall said. "All I could think was 'God please send somebody.'" Long and Simpson saw her while driving by and Long broke the window with one swing of a hammer so the boy could be freed.
