Fans can follow EVERY Sorenstam shot at the Colonial.....: Could you ever imagine playing under this much media scrutiny? Although, I guess Tiger does every week.

Due to overwhelming demand for TOURCast at the Bank of America Colonial, the system has reached its capacity. Please check back soon. We apologize.

This ESPN Live scorecard is not as cool, but it's free!

Golf.com also provides an Annika scorecard (actually a scorecard for all the players as well as an updated leaderboard.)

I have to say, I'm oddly drawn to this shot-by-shot account. Is the voice in YOUR head reading this in a whisper? As for Annika, kudos to her, but take this into consideration — she is -1 through 14, tied for 17th, and has played about the best round she could possibly play. No missed fairways, one very lucky break on a par 3 and just one missed reasonable birdie putt. This doesn't bode well if she is a bit off tomorrow.

I was able to follow TOURCast for a few holes, but I couldn't get the application to show me a track of shots plotted on the drawing of the holes (probably due to traffic). Overall, I was underwhelmed by TOURCast. I'm following the espn live scorecard and commentary dusted mentioned. She has hit the ball remarkably well, but her putter has let her down and she left a few early birdie chances short. I think she'll play about as well tomorrow and make the cut.

If her short game is not up to par (heh), then she's doomed. That aspect of the game is where accuracy trumps strength, no? Her consistency there is the only thing that will keep her in the game.

It's doesn't say on the ESPN site, but does anyone have a feel for where the cut might be after tomorrow? I'm guessing it might be par or better, if she's in 60th. I have no clue how many players start a tourney.

114 players start a PGA TOUR event like the Colonial. The cut is the low 70 and ties. (At this moment, her +1 score in round one has her at T-72) I can't find stats on what the cut line at the Colonial has been in the past, but it will likely be at +2, give or take a shot. Annika has to have fewer putts tomorrow. She hit all but one fairway and a lot of greens, but her putting was shaky.

On the Golf Channel last night they reported the cut has come in at +1 to +3 (141-143) in each of the last five years.

Out with it, boys! Step up and place your bets on Annika's score tomorrow! Winner receives an autographed 8x10 of Craig Stadler's gut. I'll go first — 73, the cut is +2 and she misses by two strokes. Even if her putter is better in the second round, the weather is slated to be dry tonight and sunny tomorrrow, i.e. faster, harder greens.

Ah, I'm always up for a fun guessing game. I say she keeps hitting it straight and few of those putts fall. I'll go with a 68.

71. I've never played golf in my life.

69, since it's a nice number. She makes the cut.

I'll guess 74, missing a +2 cut. And I think her putting is what betrays her.

71, but still misses the cut. But I hope I'm wrong.

Her putting will be great, but her driving will be off. I call it 72, just coz nobody's said it. If I win, I will give the picture to the runner-up.

Listen, if anybody ever tells you to guess a golf score, guess par. It's what a pro is s'posed to shoot. But I'm hoping she shoots in the sixties...because I want to see some of the boys play with really tight sphincters on day three...

+3 today already

Not looking good- +4 for the day now on the 13th, +5 for the tourney. She probably needs to be at par for the day to make the cut; that's 4 shots to make up in 6 holes.

Starting to look like I'm going to win this thing. I'm getting excited - got a nice spot on the wall picked out for that picture. And sure enough, her putting is killing her.

posted by kloeprich at 05:29 PM on May 23, 2003

Yeah, she's gone- still +5 for the two rounds, with only the 18th left to go. It's a shame- there are too many people, including the despicable Vijay Singh, who will take pleasure in knowing she didn't make the cut. They'll have that pleasure for only 5 years, until Michelle Wie kicks their asses, but still....

And Kloeprich is our winner! I'll work on the 8x10. If you'd rather, I have a pair of Craig's match-worn boxer shorts. I had been using them as an awning for my deck.

Nice job, kloeprich- picked the second round score AND the cut line. Granted, assuming a reasonably range, the cut line was probably going to be +1, +2, +3, and the second round score from a -4 to +4, so that's 9*3 or 27 possible picks. He had a 1 in 27 chance of doing that, and the odds that someone would hit it dead on were pretty good (not sure how many guessed). But still- nice work! :)

Thank you! Thank You! **wipes tears away** And my wife said all those hours watching the Golf Channel were wasted!
