Alouettes savour Grey Cup glory again: Montreal 21, Saskatchewan 18 ; Riders self-destruct on last-gasp drive It wasn’t the high-scoring game most everyone had anticipated. But it was as entertaining and competitive - and as close - as had been expected between two teams who seemingly have always produced classic efforts.
The Montreal Alouettes scored 13 second-half points to defeat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 21-18 in the 98th annual Grey Cup Sunday night, before 63,317 Commonwealth Stadium spectators.
