AEG Proposes Football Stadium in Downtown Los Angeles: Anschutz Entertainment Group, the owner of the Los Angeles Kings and LA Galaxy and a minority stakeholder in the Los Angeles Lakers, has unveiled a plan to build a privately-financed $725 million football stadium in downtown Los Angeles next to Staples Center. "This is the closest L.A. has been since the Raiders and Rams left," said David Israel, a member of the group that oversees the L.A. Coliseum.

I hear Ari Gold is going to be the new owner of the L.A. franchise.

In related (?) news, Alex Spanos is selling part of his share of the Chargers, and there have been rumors of the Chargers moving (back) to LA for quite a few years now.

If Larry Ellison could buy the Niners from the useless Dork family, odds are that he might move them down to LA where he has a lot of property. He had plans for a destination type stadium, complete with hotel, restaurants, and shopping built with his own money and not dependent on the city.

I have heard San Diego, Oakland and Jacksonville as the most likely relocation candidates (probably in that order).
