Jets' WR Braylon Edwards busted in DWI: Jets' wide receiver Braylon Edwards was busted on a drunken driving charge early this morning, after cops pulled him over on the West Side and found he had double the legal limit of alcohol in his system, police said.

Edwards, 27, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. and charged with DWI, after cops pulled over his Range Rover at 34th Street and 12th Avenue for having overly-tinted windows. Police said they smelled alcohol and Edwards blew a 0.16 on a Breathalyzer, or double the state's legal limit of 0.08.

I predict a penalty for excessive celebration.

He's lucky he didn't kill somebody.

The NFL needs to treat DUI seriously when someone is not killed (even though our criminal justice system does not). So, if he is on probation, he could be in big trouble.

@lbb: brilliant!

Maybe Braylon wasn't the one drunk, maybe it was his beard.

If you cant drive around drunk at 2 times the legal limit at 5 am then the terrorists have already won.

I predict 1 maybe 2 games unless this somehow violates his probation from beating up Lebrons friend

The window tint was a chicken shit way of pulling him or anyone else over hoping to find something else. They hit the jackpot with this one.

Actually if his car has overly-tinted windows, he is breaking the law.

This will be a test of Rex's "everybody has their issues; I have mine" approach to coaching the team.

Rex does seem to have the ability to bring a team through the trials and obstacles of an NFL season. Hard to say how long Braylon will be along for the ride, though.

Seeing as how he wasn't signed to a long term deal, until the end of this season I would say.

He sure proved to be an asset in week 2, though. Maybe not a big issue with Holmes coming back soon, but...

I can't help but wish that if he was gonna pull a stunt like this, he'd done it last week.

Whereas I, on the other hand....

Then again, Santonio will be off his suspension in two weeks, so the Jets can "trade" one suspended reprobate for another.

I have my issues with Rex, but he did a helluva job in the second half of last week's game getting the defense, without Revis, to shut down the Pats.

Unless they play to use a druggy at 1 wideout and an alcoholic at another ... Trade Sanchez for Roethlesberger and the recipie would be complete.

Vincent Jackson is still available, FWIW...

Curious to see where Roger Goodell where come down on this. I would hope for a very harsh penalty to send a message.

As a sports fan, I'm disappointed. As a Patriots fan, I'm disappointed that this didn't happen last week.
