Legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden has died: He won 10 titles, more than twice what any other coach has won. He was 99.

A great man who had much success, yet he never sought the spotlight. It was always about his teams. That's how it should be.

Just finished watching his final game on ESPN Classic. Jim Simpson's final words to John Wooden: "Stay with the game." He did to the end.

Not just a coach, but a man, who taught far more than basketball. Godspeed.

Worked with college students in the late 60's - early 70's and did very well.

Well if God has someone's back, I'd bet it's Wooden's. Everything I've read about him in the last few days has been quite moving. He was certainly loved.

Also, he found a definition for success. Literally. He defines things. Success - the self-satisfaction that comes from knowing that you have done everything you can (or something to the effect).

Woodenisms are better than most -isms. Talk about just the best parts of Middle America right in LA. What a run.
