Puckett found not guilty: "Twins Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett was found not guilty of all charges against him today in Hennepin County District Court. He was accused of dragging a 34-year-old woman into a men's room at the Redstone American Grill in Eden Prairie, at about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 6, 2002. The woman said he pushed her into a toilet stall and grabbed her right breast."

I hope this was justice served, but never will we really know. One of the jurists said that he didn't completely believe either one of them. A stinking rotten mess for everybody. Hopefully Puck will walk the straight and narrow from here on out and stay out of these kinds of situations.

That reasonable doubt thing makes it really difficuly to get a guilt verdict. I think if a civil suit is filed, we might see a completely different outcome. Kirby has said that he has the best lawyers in the world, hopefully his PR people are even better.

I'll come out and say I think he should have been found guilty of something. I'll also admit to having my opinion of Puckett strongly influenced by the SI piece last month. If anything this shows how difficult it can be for a woman to find justice in these types of cases.
