Today is my last day with internet access again for a while (more fuckin' hospitals need to be set up like Shepherd Center here in Atlanta).

So in parting once again I just wanted to say ROLL TIDE!

And kick ass Nebraska so we can have a UofA v TCU national title game next year.

I will second the call for a U of A / TCU title game. Go Frogs!

Stay strong, Folky. I just texted an old friend with my ROLL TIDE wishes. Gators are good for shoes, luggage, and purses only. Beside this, my brother-in-law's a Gator, so I have to be able to rag on him at Christmas.

Go well, Folky-boy.

ROLL TIDE!!!!!!

I personally thought it was so funny to see Tebow crying at the end of the game. He is so so overrated.

Ah, shit. I love the Gators, but you keep on rollin' Folkways. Best of luck dude.

Overrated? Tebow has 8,556 yards passing, 84 touchdowns, 56 rushing touchdowns, a 121.1 career quarterback rating, a Heisman trophy, Davey O'Brien award, two Maxwell awards, Associated Press player of the year and two national championships -- one as a starter, one as a key role player. He's one of the best college quarterbacks who ever played the game.

He will leave Florida as one of the greatest college quarterbacks who ever played.

Yes, he will and as sappy as he appeared, he truly just gave a big damn about winning for his teammates and fans. 12 -1 isn't anything to be ashamed of, thanks Tim.

I thought he was pretty simple and classy in the post game, of course, it wasn't too big of a stretch to admit we were soundly beaten.

I like the fact that Tebow cried. We want athletes to care that much, and Tebow's a guy with all kinds of reasons to shrug it off -- his fame, his NFL prospects, his life outside football. Tebow at the end reminded me of how my teammates and I reacted when we lost a season-ending football playoff game in elementary school. It was as if our grandmothers, favorite pets and Atari 2600s had all died at the same time.

I like the fact that Tebow cried.

Ugh. I don't like it(he wouldn't have had to if we won;)

My wife and I were not surprised by his reaction at all. We expected him to be that upset. We felt bad knowing he was going to be that upset. We felt bad when we saw his tears as he tried to talk about Alabama being a classy program etc. I don't know what I'm trying to say, other than I've watched and cared deeply about teams for many years and never cared so much about an individual player before Tebow. He just always made me feel like the feeling was reciprocated.

It was as if our grandmothers, favorite pets and Atari 2600s had all died at the same time.

Yeah, and with Tebow, I just always felt like he cared as much about my Grandma, cat and atari, as much as he did about his.

So, looking at Florida's schedule this year, why were they number one all season long? And why shouldn't Cincinnati be in the national championship game if the Huskers win tonight? Their schedule seemed to be a bit tougher than TCU's. Oh well, that's the BCS for ya. It sure beats the old CFA.

Well, I guess it's Bama v. Texas for the national championship. How 'bout that Nebraska defense though? You think they cost McCoy a Heisman?

posted by NoMich at 11:35 PM on December 05, 2009

After watching Texas tonight I can't see how they'll survive against Alabama. If Nebraska doesn't send their last kickoff out of bounds they win that game.

Is it too soon to call for a playoff system?

Not only the kickoff, but the horse-collar tackle added another 15 yards. McCoy's almost mis-management of the clock was surprising.

Heck, why shouldn't they be in it anyways? McCoy/Texas Coaches pretty much blew the game at the end. WTF were they rolling out for? They should miss out on the Championship for being that stupid.

Folkways, keep well !

I'll be cheering for the Tide as well ... they earned it, big time whoopin' in a big game.

That last kickoff for Nebraska was a killer, they deserved a better fate. Love that Husker's D .....

Speaking of deserving, there will be 2 teams that get shafted if Texas goes to the big one - if the Horns are there, they backed in. Would much rather see Cincy get a shot ....

WTF were they rolling out for?

I think he had to get outside the tackles before he could throw the ball out of bounds. If Texas had no timeouts left, that would be the only way to stop the clock without losing any yardage in the time left.

Still, his nonchalance about the play nearly cost him the game. And I think the 13-12 escape and the similar unimpressive win over Oklahoma should be enough to put TCU or Cincinnati in the championship game.
