Apparently, sex is good for you.

And for the team. Single players shouldn't feel left out, either.

UCI is banning race radios at all levels of road racing. No date's been set for the phase out though. Considering how poorly the the two stage ban went over at the TdF, not sure how they can say "They also took into account the desire expressed by the majority of those involved in cycling to prohibit the equipment."

An entertaining talk about sports from Frank Deford : video.

It's a year old now, (pre-Olympics), but isn't especially time sensitive - a good listen to pass an hour in the office.

Liverpool's owners were ready to take a 50m Payment-In-Kind loan earlier this year to raise capital for restructuring of their 350m debt.

The 50m PIK would have required repayment of more than 100m over five years.

I'm not sure I want to think of Rafa offering "payment in kind."

(also, rcade, why do my Pound Sterling symbols appear in preview, but then disappear on posting? Are you currencyist?)

How's this for a survey question of The Best World Series Ever:

Best World Series ever:
A) 1954: Giants vs. Indians
B) 1975: Reds vs. Red Sox
C) 1977: Yankees vs. Dodgers
D) 1988: Dodgers vs. Athletics
E) 1991: Twins vs. Braves

What would you change? E) is staying no matter what.

Apparently, sex is good for you.

In the mid-1970s Joe Lutz was the manager of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in Japan baseball's Central League. At the time there was a strict taboo against pregame sex, which meant going without for some fairly long stretches. Lutz, much to the delight of the players' wives and girlfriends, encouraged his players to go ahead. The results were good, as the team won a Japan Series championship.

A snappy gallery of all 20 NHL third jerseys with commentary.

St. Louis, your third? Rocks.

Phoenix, your third? Awful.

What would you change?

1960 World Series: Pirates over Yankees. Mazeroski hits a walk off homer in the ninth inning of game seven. the Bucs win despite being outscored 55-27.

1986 World Series: Mets over Red Sox: Game 6! Game 7 didn't suck either.

1955 World Series: The Dodgers finally beat the Yankees

Wow, I really like the Minnesota and Tampa Bay 3rds. Also like the fact so many teams are using throwbacks as their 3rds (except you Pittsburgh. For God's sake, let those baby blue monstrosities die)...

And am I the only one who makes the mistake of trying to edit my post in the live preview box? Quite the "derrrr" moment every time I do it...

As for the best World Series, 1991 all the way...

It's the biggest sports awards night of the year, with everybody dressed up and on their best behaviour.

So of course you give the vox pop job to a drunk footballer...

World Series: 1969 Mets. Seriously, this was the only incredibly good baseball memory of my childhood.
