Ken Griffey Pranks Adrian 'Cupless in Seattle' Beltre: When Seattle Mariners infielder Adrian Beltre took an at-bat Tuesday -- his first since one of his testicles lost a fight with a ground ball -- his normal intro music was replaced. The PA system played "The Nutcracker Suite" instead (audio), a prank instigated by teammate Ken Griffey Jr.

I didn't even catch this watching the game as I was pre-occupied. Along with the obvious sentimental value that Junior brought when he came back to the Mariners, is his sense of humor. Seattle isn't going to win the World Series but they have been more fun to watch this year than in the past. Even with Griffey Jr. not in the lineup as much.

Thanks rcade.

Not bad, but still no one can top the Pittsburgh Pirates' organist playing Pop Goes The Weasel and The Woody Woodpecker Theme when Viagra pitchman Rafael Palmeiro came to bat for the Rangers in 2002.

In addition, there was a loud "BOING" sound effect during his first at-bat, and the videoboard showed a gushing fountain.

I still can't believe that guy got fired.

Another link.

Not better than the Chicago PA guy who played "Here I Go Again" for Chuck Finley's return from the DL after getting stomped on by Tawny Kittaen's stilettos. Close, but not better.
