EPL REPORT WEEK 29: Arsenal roll on with 2-0 win over Charlton (help me do this report, bring your links inside!)

You're gettin' lazy...

I'm burned out with posting (and work!) this week. With games spread over four days this week, it's hard to get the links. Hope you'll bring one link about your team this week. Something related to the match they played this week, preferably, and anything else you think is relevant. Like this: Liverpool didn't play an EPL game this week. They were too busy beating Auxerre 2-0 in the UEFA Cup fourth round last week. And then, defeating Man Utd 2-0 in the Worthington Cup final on Sunday. What did your team do?

Looks like Ferguson's mind games aren't working (not that it ever bothered the inimitable Mr Wenger), and one Man U player seems to be looking to Europe for their only hope of silverware (thanks in part to Liverpool).

"As an advertisement, our match with Villa on and off the pitch was about as attractive as a motorway pile-up" - Karen Brady (Birmingham City Chairwoman) I couldn't agree more

That's more like it. Thanks, trox and BC. You'd think FB would be plastering pictures of Dion Dublin and Robbie Savage all over here already. Here are more tidbits:

  • EPL Table: See who's fighting for the title and a place in Europe, as well as those fighting purely to stay in the top-flight.
  • EPL attendance at 50-year high, more than any other Euro league.
  • Team of the Week: Includes three Liverpool players - Dudek, Carragher and Dudek - for their winning display in the Worthington Cup final.

Dudek, Carragher AND Dudek?

posted by StarFucker at 05:45 PM on March 06, 2003

He was so good, they had to put him in twice. I meant: Dudek, Carragher and Diouf.

Seeing as FB seems to be missing in action. Blues beat Man Utd. OK, it was the reserves but BigCalm already posted on our game.

I think FB's computer has blown up. Sorry for beating you to a post on the Blues Villa game Squealy!

Blogspot is blocked at work. What does it say? Sorry for beating you in the Blues Villa game BigCalm.

apology accepted! Quoting FB's blog: My p.c at home appears to be kaput, hence lack of updates, until I get the bleeder sorted out blogging will be difficult, will probably just post bits and bobs while at work, might be dodgy though, the FFC appears at your shoulder like grim death, unannounced.

A little late, but, Man Utd defeats Leeds on a late goal by Silvestre, but they lost Keane for at least a couple of weeks, along with some other nicks and scrapes.

FB's blog sez his off to a place called "Sandy Balls." Hahahahahahaha. And his email is porkysod. Hahahahaha. I'm going to miss his sense of humor until he gets back. :-(

Newcastle loses to Middlesborough in the Northeast Derby. This leaves Newcastle 3 back of United for 3rd place.

BigCalm - can you tell me how you do that thingy you did when you linked to a specific bit of FB's blog? I'm a bit dim.

I'm just a bit of a nerd I'm afraid, and work with HTML quite a big. Most blogger powered software inserts bookmark links into every page (within the source of the html, given as "<A NAME=..." tags). On Spofi or FB's blog, hover over the time, right click, go into properties, copy the url therein. the # points to a named bookmark reference within the page. here's a link to your last comment, with bookmark name of "8763". Hope I'm explaining this ok.

squealy - if you mouse over the time at the bottom of that entry, the status bar shows this: http://fatbuddha.blogspot.com/archive/2003_03_01_fatbuddha_archive.html#90121830 and it looks like BigCalm cut it down to this: http://fatbuddha.blogspot.com#90121830 since it is still on the front page and it would be unnecessary to go the archives. On preview: Looks like BigCalm got it better than me.

Cheers guys. Ooops, derailed another fecking wc2002 thread. Mwahahaha.

No, it's ok. I'm pleased to help our retarded brethren in any way.

btw, this is the best report ever. A true community effort. Kind of like a miniblog within a blog. Oooh, it's getting fractal in here. And all invective aside, thanks everyone for contributing. This is really cool. Perhaps this can be the model for next season's weekly EPL report. I'm thinking of retiring here. 29 straight weeks of link-mongering (and nine more!), including the fantasy league report and, now, my SpoFi superstar interviews have really strained my blogging capacity. I think I'll focus on the interviews and let someone (or group of someones) take over the other reports.
