Williams Sisters Join Dolphins' Ownership: In an apparent attempt to have more owners than players, the Dolphins add two more owners, joining Gloria Estefan, Jimmy Buffett and Marc Anthony.

They'll have bigger stars as owners than they have on the field.

I wonder if Venus can run routes? She's one hell of an athlete and Pennington needs *someone* to throw to.

Let's just hope that it's a short post pattern considering Pennington's weak arm strength.

I personally would rather have Serena out there over Venus though, I bet she would look awesome with, um, shoulder pads on. Yeah, that's it! Shoulder pads.

Related: The NYTimes has an interesting article today on the Dolphins' attempt to re-brand the franchise "into the N.F.L.'s version of the Los Angeles Lakers":

The Dolphins unveiled their latest rebuilding effort a few weeks ago not on the practice field, but rather on a fashion runway at an opulent private club best known as the site of a famous celebrity murder. A pop art star and a rapper were the primary attractions as the sun set over South Beach that night.

A few weeks earlier, the Dolphins held a news conference in a mall that featured a blasting soundtrack and an appearance by Jennifer Lopez. That followed a casting call for singers to be hired by the team, a new team song and a stadium renamed for a niche beer with a connection to a local icon.

I'm sure Parcells is *loving* all of this....

Jesus Christ. First a celebrity president and now this. The Fins are the 21st century version of "the very model of a modern major general". Style over substance is not what Parcells signed up for. 10 to 1 this is his final season with Miami.

Ufez, your link to the NYTimes is a link to SpoFi but I would love to read that article.

Thanks fatty, after reading the NYTimes article, I agree that Bill Parcells will probably be making his exit from Miami pretty soon.

Wonder if they'll hit the SEC limits soon and have to start filing public disclosures, the other owners would just lurve that!
