Roger Clemens -- Wait for It -- Denies Using Steroids: On the same day as the release of a new book detailing allegations against him, Roger Clemens has broken his silence with an interview on ESPN's Mike and Mike radio show, denying he used steroids and claiming it would have been "suicidal" for him to use them given his family's history of heart problems. "For some of that to come in question, of course it’s hurtful. But it’s not going to break my spirit," said Clemens.

Should there be a steroid category?

I think there should def be a steroid category to post to. itr only makes sense, kinda like there should just be a "steroid era" section in the Hall of Fame.

If Clemens' spirit breaks, there are drugs he could take to recover it more quickly.

But then he would have to take drugs to mask those drugs, rcade, and so on and so forth. Something illegal will come in, he'll deny it, and we'll go through this whole cycle once more.

Did anyone else notice that when he said there was a history of heart disease in his family(why he had to be careful) one of the members he mentioned was his step-dad (he also mentioned his brother). Really, Roger? I didn't know that by your mom marrying someone, that meant you have his medical history now too. How about any brother-in-laws, girlfriends dad's, etc? Because you know heart disease is contagious. 10 years ago, I was a big fan of Clemens, now, he's just a big buffoon. Enjoy waiting every year to have your name called for the HOF, Roger, because it will be quite a while before you get in.

Thanks for pointing that out, Jags. Clemens is so dumb he'd cheat off Ruben Sierra on a test.

Just had to throw "cycle" when it comes to Clemens, right?

My favorite part was during the HoF questions. At one point Clemens gets confused and says the wrong pronoun while referring to himself. I'm guessing this is because he's reading what someone else wrote for him. He says:

"At one point a while back your spirit was a little bit broken, but ... uh ... I don't think anyone cares about that..."

He then goes on to talk some more about stuff that no one cares about.

I like this because it illustrates that Clemens cannot handle an interview with a year to prep and someone feeding him answers while he's responding. Also, because as a means to recover, he immediately declares that no one cares about what he just said.

If Clemens' spirit breaks, there are drugs he could take to recover it more quickly.

He'll also enjoy a more robust, faster and massive spirit!

But his personality will shrink to the size of a raisin. /sad trombone

I'm with ya there. Never thought I'd hear the words 'Roger the Dodger' uttered with disrespect, but that's all he (Clemens) has done since his retirement. Clemens is just another in a long list of liars and cheats.

Clemens is so dumb he'd cheat off Ruben Sierra on a test.

Now, that's effin' funny.

I have to agree with the first couple of posters. RC's 5 minutes on SportsFilter should be up. Discussing him and this topic should be retired. I'm tempted to post it to the Sore Subjects section of the wiki, but I'm a bit drunk right now.

What, we're supposed to be sober when we post here? Or is that just the wiki? This all new SpoFi is getting difficult to navigate.
