Spofi EPL pool preseason update: The EPL kicks off this coming weekend. The door on Spofi's EPL pool will then be shut. So if you want in, time to make it happen. We have 30 participants so far (same as last year) with a few returning entrants.

If interested the Signup link for the main pool is http://fantasy.premierleague.com/. The code you'd need to join the Spofi group is 88297-23343.

In the Spofi EPL pool version of reinheitgebot, if you enter then we need to know who you are (a Spofi pool for Spofi people). I know who all the entrants are except for the barbarajones - william hunt entry. New entrants can identify themselves in this thread.

The updated Spofi code has broken all the old tables used in the old threads (it hurts to look at them!). So I'll see what that means for weekly updates being dropped into the threads. At worst I can upload update tables elsewhere and link to them.

Auugh. I'll work on those so you can keep posting tables.

It worries me that the team auto-selected for me by the site will probably do better than the one I eventually choose.

Better get tinkering on the transfer market, anyway.

Well, barbarajones and the newly appeared ibanez666 were booted for not saying hello.

The season is about to kick off and I know I've selected a horrible team - I only have two players that Squealy has.

Awright, who has Dean Ashton?

I had a feeling the Pompey defense was a bad idea. Trying to figure out how yerfatma pointed me at Ashton during the MLS all star game but didn't have him on his squad.

I think I dropped him a couple of weeks ago, because I am so smart I posted the worst score of the week.

I would have expected Torres, Santa Cruz and Martins to be worth more than 6, 7 and 7 points when all three scored goals and the latter two made the FL Dream team. Then again, I'm in 18th place so what do I know?

/looks up at Bill, wishes rcade were still playing.

I had Agbonlahor. So you guys can suck it!

But instead of making Aggie captain, I chose Friedel. So, I can suck it, too!

Holden starting strong! Showing the end of last season was no fluke.

I've started off okay, pretty much right in the middle of the group. But lets say that if one happens to move 1800 miles away and has no TV service, whats the best online coverage?

Agbonlahor is my captain. Oh, captain, my captain.

After sticking with him all last season, I traded Agbonlahor on Friday for Van Persie and some midfield re-jigging.

I'm hopelessly lost at checking for injuries and team selections (since they usually happen when I'm asleep).

Well that's my excuse.

Actually, I did an auto-pick for my team. So, I can thank the server for my Agbonlahor pick. Also, shows how much I know about picking teams. I'm leaving it all to the computer from now on.

btw, how's everyone doing on their Head-to-Head Leagues? As luck would have it, billsaysthis and I are in the same one. Any other SpoFites in our league? I couldn't recognize anyone besides bill. My team narrowly lost by 8 points and we're stuck in the bottom half. Some team that almost half what I did, still managed to win their match because of their opponents even suckier score. This should be interesting.

That's an astonishing coincidence unless you picked your teams in unison. As I understand it the Head to Head leagues are just each 20 entrants in order of registering their teams.

Though having said that I suppose as you're both Americans you probably signed up whilst the vast majority of the most likely entrants (Brits) were fast asleep.
