NFL 2007 Playoff Pick'em: Division Round

posted by apoch to fantasy at 09:20 PM - 65 comments

This weeks picks: If you notice any errors (or have html suggestions) let me know. The Games: Seattle at Green Bay - Saturday 4:30 Jacksonville at New England - Saturday 8:00 San Diego at Indianapolis - Sunday 1:00 New York at Dallas - Sunday 4:30 The Bonus: Each is worth one point, awarded independently and for exact answers only. 1. How many turnovers will there be this weekend? 2. Which team will have the best turnover ration? 3. What will the best turnover ratio be? (eg +3) Last week: An exciting weekend of football. A lot of points where awarded. While almost everyone's yard pick for the bonus fell within the margin, no one picked Hines Ward to have the most receiving yards and no one nailed the exact yardage, so no bonus points were awarded. And here we add some spacing so the table is visible. BoKnows playoff pick'ems.

Thats a very good question, as turnover ratio is a very tieable category. Tieable...really?

posted by hawkguy at 05:32 PM on January 11, 2008

After all, they are my local team. I got that, owlhouse. Which is why I picked them as well. You can't do better than a football team from northeast Oz.

posted by Texan_lost_in_NY at 07:15 PM on January 11, 2008

However, Tex, if I take the circumpolar route, my local team would probably be the Pats. I'll let you know after the Superbowl...

Holy whuh, we're not even two minutes into the Seahawks/Packers game the Seahawks are already a +2 on the turnovers.

posted by NoMich at 03:44 PM on January 12, 2008

Yeah, well that didn't last- 28 to 17 going into half time. After the first 4 minutes, when the Hawks went up 14-0, the Packers have outscored them 28-3, scoring TDs on all 4 possessions if I'm not mistaken. Where'd the D go? On that last TD before the end of the half, a Hawk had Favre wrapped up... and just let him slip away. Where's the hustle?! How frustrating. Eh, let's just hope this is not how the Pats game goes... Go Pats! Btw, regarding turnovers: I think the tiebreaker should be if there's a tie in turnover differential, then whichever team forced the most turnovers wins the tie breaker (i.e., if you force 6 turnovers and give up 3, you'd win over the team that forced 5 and gave up 2). If there's still a tie after that, then we should just call both teams a winner.

posted by hincandenza at 05:13 PM on January 12, 2008

In case of tie, both picks will be awarded points.

posted by apoch at 05:35 PM on January 12, 2008

I can't believe there were two people who nailed all 4 games- and hey, I think Monica Poland got a couple of spreads, including one right on, and Hater187 got all 4 games and a couple of in-the-range spread picks. Jaysus... can't wait to see how the standings look after this weekend... :(

Evidently my head is so far up my @$$ I'm going to need a plexiglass navel to see the games next weekend. I bet "logic" against emotion; I favored the Giants, Packers and Chargers in my heart, but not my head. The rest of the picks will be easier for me now. Just write me in for NE, and kiss my *.
