Thanks, jg. I just finished a delicious chicken and colcannon dinner. Nummy, and mad props to my wife for filling me with both good grub and my family's love.

Thanks from me, too JG. On the down side, I'm working about 7,000 km from home at the moment, and missing my kids. Especially coaching my daughter's soccer team. On the up side, it's not Father's Day at home until September. And the team are doing better without me.

Thanks, jg. My son's HS graduation was yesterday, and his Fathers' Day gift to me was graduating with honors in the top 10% of his class. He was also a scholar-athlete (2 sports and an A- average), an international finalist in a business marketing competition, and completed 2 courses at the college level. Man, are my buttons busting. He's off to Penn State in the fall, and if the little snot doesn't get football tickets, he's dis-inherited.

I just saw this today and I wanted to thank you as well, jg. I did the cooking at my house, fraze; thick ribeyes with roasted garlic sauce. Howard, I would have to say that you got a great Father's Day gift. owlhouse, you do have my sympathies. Holiday or not, being away from your children is always a downer. Best wishes.

I'm having a couple of kids puke on it first.

Make sure they also leave some snot where the rest of the world can see it but I can't. God bless ya.

Hold off on the requests, I gotta get a hold of some kids first. You'd think a big black car and some candy would have 'em running.

yerfatma, try the old "puppy" trick; it works every time. I can give you some good tips on elementary schools in the area, but that will have to wait until fall.

Why? If it works, the kids in summer school will definitely fall for it.

Well, I've read the later posts here and I must say that I'm appalled!! Tricking children into getting into your car on a Father's day thread!! Don't you know you can just clip 'em and scoop 'em up without hardly stopping? Sheesh.
