Updated Grand Slam fantasy standings : after the completion (finally) of Round 1. Oh, the humanity.

You know, I was actually thinking, "Hmm, this is going to seem like a pretty boring game if everyone just sails through the first round." Thanks to the obliging work of Roddick, Gonzalez and Blake, however, only Ufez made it through Round 1 with an intact men's team (and a couple of us are down to half strength). On the women's side, everybody sailed through unscathed. Here's hoping they don't take as long to play the second round as they took on the first. (sorry for the great big gap before the table, I don't know how to make it not do that)

They need a dome.

This actually makes me pretty uneasy. It's rarely good to be the lead horse in a race like this, especially when you essentially have no idea what you're doing. If I were Canas or Djokovic, I'd start getting very superstitious. F*ck you Ufez! Well look who just lost my vote for Miss Congeniality in this pageant!

Canas won't go deep. He'll never win a major. He's not bad, but he beat Federer in tournaments with small fields, where there wasn't anyone to weed him out. He won't even get a crack at Federer in a major, ever.

Well look who just lost my vote for Miss Congeniality in this pageant! Well maybe if you weren't such a tennis phsycic I could say good things about you.

I hope Roddick gets hurt so I can swap Youzhny in for Wimbledon. Gaaaaaah...

Wishing injury on a player is one of the first warning signs that fantasy sports is making you lose perspective.
