Link Dump: - just because I couldn't bring myself to post this as a FPP.

I think it says more about me than I ought to admit that my first reaction was "That oaf is wearing jeans and running shoes on the golf course." For something a little more impressive and a little more important, how about a little Federer magic.

Speaking of things you couldn't bring yourself to post on the front page - Hayden Panettiere making out with the Stanley Cup. She particularly loves the 63-64 Toronto Maple Leafs. Gotta love that golf ball launcher hunting enthusiasts love it AND it eliminates slow play AND it makes golf fun.

Golf ball launcher is a solid 6 on the Mulletude scale. I think it says more about me than I ought to admit that my first reaction was "That oaf is wearing jeans and running shoes on the golf course." My first reaction was "Look at that guy - Perfect."

Well, if ever I needed a reason to take up golf, this is it! Can't drive? No problem, 300yds without breaking a sweat. Don't want to leave the cart cause you just cracked a "beverage"? Just launch from your seat! Slow foursome in front of you? With one or two blasts from the golf ball launcher they will be telling you to "play through!" Hilarious/interesting post there, JJ

That's truly hilarious, JJ. Bill Engvall should invest a fortune in this thing.

I just found out that I get cheap-to-free golf at the Mount Snow golf course. Too bad I don't play.

If only the 80s hadn't ended. You could make a decent teen flick with that thing. Kid from the tough side of town gets onto the course, gives the local preps a couple blasts from point blank range to play through and then winds up winning the annual invitational. Get Billy Zabka on the horn, pronto.

OK, I want one of the Bloom numbers mounted on a ring mount on top of my golf cart. Can't get a tee time? No problem. One pass through the practice green and the course is yours. When I was a kid, I once terrorized a lawn party from about 100 yards away with a Wham-O sling shot and glass marbles. I had prety good concealment, so they never quite figured out what was going on. The problem is that my Dad caught wind of it. These golf ball launchers could be the answer to a future juvenile delinquent's prayer.

What ever happened to good old fashioned lawn darts? You mean one of the ten most dangerous toys of all time?

Hayden Panettiere making out with the Stanley Cup. It's like when two of my happiest day-dreams collide in real life!

What ever happened to good old fashioned lawn darts? You mean one of the ten most dangerous toys of all time? That's the problem with kids today...play time doesn't equal SURVIVAL time any more, so they grow up too wimpy.

Not worth a post because it's a little Sox-specific, but Eagle-Tribune writer Rob Bradford's blog is what I would like to see the future of sports writing be.

Not worth a post because it's a little Sox-specific Ooh, thanks. I'm perfectly fine with sox-specific.

Ranking the "Frat Pack" movies (there's dodgeball in there, so it's sorta sports related).

Try savers and rib breakers features some great rugby, with a few dangerous plays just to liven it up. And a bit of instruction on why you should find touch with your kicks.

Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga claiming four wickets in four successive deliveries yesterday in the Cricket World Cup. Unfortunately, it was too little too late to prevent South Africa from squeezing a tense 1 wicket victory in the Super Eight match at Guyana. Check out his action. It looks illegal - like a throw - until you see it in slow motion.

Another nice moment. Goalkeeper scores a penalty (soccer, guys, soccer) and spends so much time celebrating that he doesn't see the other team kick off and then lob him to score. Goalkeeper's own team laugh at goalkeeper.

Justgary, I expect you to catch a rash for posting an article that trashes "Anchorman." This could escalate quickly. I mean, this could really get out of hand.

Yes, the Blue Jackets almost suck this much.

You trashed Anchorman, Gary? I thought you were kidding. I thought it was a joke. I even wrote it down in my diary - Gary had a very funny joke today. I laughed about it later that night.

What? You trashed Anchorman? Why'd you do that? Heck, I'm not even mad. That's amazing. How about we get you in your PJs and we hit the hay?

Check out his action. It looks illegal - like a throw - until you see it in slow motion I think Stephen Fleming (NZ) made the umpire wear a white towel as a bib in a Test match last year, because Malinga was releasing from in front of the stumps. As weird actions go, has anyone got a clip of South Africa's Paul Adams? His action was once described as 'like a man trying to steal a hubcap from a car that's still moving'.

I couldn't find a single clip of the man with the action that made him look like a "frog in a blender" - which is very odd. Found some good photos though.
