Has anyone seen smithers' team? KG and Dirk?!

posted by dusted at 11:05 AM on February 05, 2007

Don't forget, I'm also the idjit that traded Joe Johnson for Chris Kaman and James Jones.

posted by smithers at 01:23 PM on February 05, 2007

I'm happy Roy is working out for you.

Don't forget, I'm also the idjit that traded Joe Johnson for Chris Kaman and James Jones. Your team hasn't suffered much, but yeah, it would be even deadlier with JJ. I want to know what happened to Ying Yang Mafia's team. He was in first not too long ago, and hasn't had too many injuries (until Jamison went down).

posted by dusted at 02:37 PM on February 05, 2007

I'm also the idjit that traded Joe Johnson ...and thank god you did. He only had 37 yesterday. I was worried about him for a couple weeks but he's come on strong to quite strong.

posted by YukonGold at 02:53 PM on February 05, 2007

I feel bad for the Knicks... a bunch of injured players for the first couple days, but he kept it competitive, then still gets beaten 8-1 on the last day. Ouch.

posted by dusted at 04:48 PM on February 05, 2007

Yeah. Duncan taking a mini-vacation at the end of the week killed him. One game out of him and it's probably 6-3.

I want to know what happened to Ying Yang Mafia's team. He was in first not too long ago, and hasn't had too many injuries (until Jamison went down). I'd like to know the same thing. Based on Yahoo's rankings I have a good crop of players, but they don't put anything together.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 07:43 PM on February 05, 2007

I don't know what's up with those rankings. They're either way too mathematical or not even close to enough. It's certainly not science.

posted by YukonGold at 08:23 PM on February 05, 2007

I'd like to know the same thing. Based on Yahoo's rankings I have a good crop of players, but they don't put anything together. *dons mechanics overalls, checks under the hood* You're depending on pretty much three players: Marion (and Wade before him), O'Neal, and Jamison. If any of them play poorly or get injured, you lose. Guys like Brent Barry, Mike James and Wally Szczczczcz aren't going to carry any categories if your big three don't come through.

Can someone explain to me (finally) what the hell the O-Rank is in Yahoo! It's obviously not the Original rank, since that shifts. And it's not the overall rank, since the season rank takes care of that. What makes it tick? This has bugged me for quite a while.

posted by Ufez Jones at 11:46 PM on February 05, 2007

"O-Rank: Player's overall Yahoo! Sports ranking (based on current and prior seasons)." That would explain why it shifts during the season.

posted by smithers at 07:17 AM on February 06, 2007

The "O" is for obscure. btw, I'm hoping for quite a battle with "Mr. First Place" this week. Luther Head dropped 20 last night with 5 threes, not bad for one of the last guys on the squad. btw, You see that dark shadowy figure at the end of the bench? That's Rashard Lewis warming up the 3-ball himself.

posted by YukonGold at 07:25 AM on February 06, 2007

That would explain why it shifts during the season. And why it's pretty much inherently useless?

posted by Ufez Jones at 09:47 AM on February 06, 2007

Oh no, use the uselessness...to your (dis)advantage

Well, the Channing Frye era lasted all of one game...

posted by dusted at 01:15 PM on February 07, 2007

...and somewhere Channing Frye is sobbing himself to sleep. Cold blooded man.

I just traded for Webber. Never thought I'd write that.

posted by dusted at 03:35 PM on February 07, 2007

Yeah it looks like it was a good pickup for me after all...

posted by Kendall at 03:46 PM on February 07, 2007

Correct me if I'm wrong but the trade seems a bit one sided to me.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 05:15 PM on February 07, 2007

In whose favor?

posted by dusted at 05:17 PM on February 07, 2007

I just traded for Webber. Never thought I'd write that. I don't even know who you are anymore.

posted by YukonGold at 06:42 PM on February 07, 2007

In whose favor? Knicks.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 08:25 PM on February 07, 2007

Well, I'm not complaining, and I'm an experienced fantasy player. I think I know what I'm doing.

posted by dusted at 09:09 PM on February 07, 2007

Yea I think that webber's value is much greater than it appears to be on the stat sheet. For along time, he was unhappy, and never played. Hill is coming back soon, so Nelson's value will go down considerably. Overall, I think this trade is pretty even-- but hey it's your opinion.

posted by Kendall at 09:22 PM on February 07, 2007

In whose favor? Knicks. I would actually go the other way. dusted probably gets a bigger improvement on the scoresheet when you look at what he's gaining vs. what he's losing. Just remember who had the foresight to actually draft Webber!

posted by YukonGold at 05:32 AM on February 08, 2007

YYM, if you feel strongly about it, hit the object trade button on the site if you want to formally register the objection.

posted by smithers at 07:25 AM on February 08, 2007

Is there any player that has been dropped and added and dropped again as Adam Morrison?

posted by dusted at 10:27 AM on February 08, 2007

Does anybody want Wally Sczeizerwhatever? He has got to be one of the most fragile players in the league right now.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 02:02 PM on February 08, 2007

Is there any player that has been dropped and added and dropped again as Adam Morrison? Channing Frye is definitely a product of the system too. btw, I'm definitely winning the "tinkerman award" (as gspm refers to it in EPL). I only have 3 of my original draft picks. To be fair, I have traded 5 of them though.

posted by YukonGold at 02:41 PM on February 08, 2007

Yea I only have two- most of my picks were totaly bullshi*t now that I look through them again. (now I know why my team sucked so bad)

posted by Kendall at 03:15 PM on February 08, 2007

Fine! So I'm not winning.

posted by YukonGold at 03:20 PM on February 08, 2007

Well if you want the award that badly, I suppose you could drop Kidd and Lewis... im jus' sayin'....

posted by Kendall at 03:43 PM on February 08, 2007

If anyone wants to watch a good stattracker battle today, myself and TBH are really locked up in one. Should be interesting to see which way it swings. Very very close in almost every category except assists.
