Rangers/Leafs Game Meetup?: I understand that some or all of Weedy/Garfield/Samsonov are planning on coming to the Leafs/Rangers game at Madison Square Garden tonight (March 18th).

Well, ajaffe & I have also wound up with tickets, and I was just kindasorta thinking, does anyone want to get together beforehand for a beverage and some desultory trash-talking between a legit contender and, uh, the team I'll be pulling for?

From what I know, Weedy and garfield are still going. It was my responsibility to get tickets for Sammy and myself, but I never did. I had to shell out a lot of dough for other things recently and it didn't fit in the budget. Anyway, I hope the rest of you fools get together and maybe (just maybe) I can make it in for some pre/post game bevery. If that becomes possible, I'll get in touch with garfield. Go Rangers.

Well, I hope you're all happy. I wandered around in my SpoFi tee between periods, and I wasn't able to run into two people out of 16,000 or however many were there. And if Tellqvist is the immediate future in Toronto, they better get on finding someone else to back up the "good prospects" still on the farm. Tonight, Tellqvist couldn't stop tooth decay with Muhammad Ali, a year's supply of Poly-Filla and a shipping crate full of dental hygienists on his side. Hm. Okay, then. He couldn't stop a beach ball. It was so bad, I was wishing for the return of Jiri Crha. Yeah, exactly, I know.

Well, I enjoyed it... What I didn't enjoy was, at our postgame beer at the crappy bar near MSG, the sound system was screwed and played "Dancing Queen" THREE TIMES in 45 minutes....

86 couldn't be bothered because instead of going to a hockey game he proposed to his girlfriend. I don't think the dude has his priorities in order, but it's a pretty good excuse.

There is just good stuff galore happening on SportsFilter. Fraze just had a baby and 86 proposed. Must be related to St. Patrick's Day.

If I had known about this thread before this morning, I would've attempted to meet up. Weedy and I were in the nosebleeds, beside approximately 50 Leafs fans, one of which was holding a "Jagr is a Tranny" sign. Pretty good excuse? Bah!

Almost forgot, Weedy was at the Pens game last night as well. I can't wait to hear about the blackouts.

"Jagr is a Tranny" is hilarious. And Samsonov, she did get me tix for the game on Wednesday. That counts for something.

Hey, Jagr did cut his hair, finally... Congrats, 86! We had a baby three months ago and I'm trying to teach her to be a Rangers fan. May she never know the heartache I've known...

Sorry fellas - between St. Paddy's Day, 12 hours on a bus and hooking up with Garf, I had no time to prep any meet-and-greets. I feel shame for not seeing you Chico - I was looking forward to that. Also, I passed out sometime in the second period. "Jagr is a Tranny" is officially the name of my hockey pool team next year. I fucking STAMPED it. (I'd like to claim responsibility for the name, but it was some other bozo with me.)

I suppose you'd have to teach a baby to be a Rangers fan. That wouldn't come naturally, would it? I'd think natural selection would weed those out. I'm not up for dropping a bazillion dollars to go to a Leafs game, but how about either the Sabres or an OHL game early next season?

You hooked up with Garfield. Heh.

wow, I didn't know all you guys were from the city. If I would have looked in here sooner I probably would have hooked up with you guys,,,, maybe next time

Fraze, I resemble that remark! Ummm, well... Actually. my daughter was at the epic Rangers-Caps 15-round shootout. She didn't have a great view at the time...
