I signed up. Picked my players. I have no idea who any of them are, I went with the coolest names.

corpse: As soon as the season starts, start using the Player Distribution and Player Performance links at the top right of your Team page. Player Distribution shows you the top 10 or 25 (or whatever) most popular players for a single week. They'll probably be too expensive for you by then ;-) but it might be worthwhile at that time to trade some of your players out for lower-priced players so you can afford the heavy hitters ... erm ... kickers. Player Performance shows you the top 10 (i think) weekly point scorers in each of the four position groups: Attack, Midfield, Defense, Goalkeeper. This tells you more specifically which players could give you a better "return on investment." In addition, when you're looking at the complete list of players for a particular position, you can sort by the various scoring parameters. The most important ones are Points and Goals. One type of stat I wish they would put up is averages/ratios, i.e., Points/Games Played and Goals/Games Played. This makes comparisons more easy. Until then, it might be nice for them to allow spreadsheet downloads so we can run our own calculations. This geek minute was brought to you by ...

Hey! Are there only four of us out of a possible 568 (less than 1%) interested in an EPL fantasy league? Are others engaged in a different fantasy league? What other leagues are there? ESPN Soccernet is one. What others? Are they better? If so, how are they better?

I'm involved in one at work, at free-fantasy-football.tv. It's easy to use, got good graphics, and you can do cool things like upgrade your stadium. My only gripe is that you can't log in without flash.
