Fantasy Premier League, Gameweek 11: Premier League play begins early Saturday with Chelsea at Liverpool. In the SportsFilter league PoloXI holds onto first place for a third week, 12 points ahead of Hillbilly F.C. Hagfish scores a week-best 72 with nine of the starting 11 scoring 5 or more. Top pickups this week: Spurs forward Harry Kane, Leicester forward Jamie Vardy and West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet. I just picked up Vardy, which is a bad omen for his future success.

Jewelry Store Locks Doors at Sight of NBA Player: After signing a $44-million contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks, 24-year-old NBA player John Henson wanted to buy his first Rolex watch so he called Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, to see what time they closed. They called 911 and claimed the call was suspicious, then locked their doors. He went back three days later. They saw him and locked their doors again. "I don't want them to see me out there," a worker said during a 911 call. "We're pretending like we're closed."

NFL Pick 'Em, Week Eight: Waitin' All Week for Sunday Night: We're nearing the halfway point in the regular season and the NFL Pick 'Em contest. The eighth week begins with the suddenly feisty Miami Dolphins going to New England on Thursday night. London draws another sub-par American export as 2-5 San Diego faces 1-6 Detroit. On Sunday night, Green Bay visits Denver for only the fourth meeting of 6-0 (or better) teams in NFL history. Make your picks and lock your lock.

Meanwhile, here are your seven muppets candidates to replace Blatter.

Fantasy Premier League, Gameweek 10: This week's Premiership has no early Saturday game, so five games kicking off at 10 a.m. Eastern begin the festivities. In our league PoloXI stays in first, increasing his lead over Hillbilly F.C. from 6 to 19 points. Dover Divers scores a week-best 79 because of Arsenal midfielders Alexis Sanchez (a captain-doubled 20) and Mesut Ozil (12) and Leicester forward Jamie Vardy (13). The London tabloid Metro found somebody who had Newcastle midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum as vice captain and Daniel Sturridge as captain on a triple captain week. Sturridge sat and Wijnaldum scored 25 with four goals (20), 90 minutes (2) and a bonus -- so the lucky bastich nets 75 points.

Don Mattingly Out as Dodgers Skipper: The Los Angeles Dodgers won three straight division titles under manager Don Mattingly, but that wasn't enough without deeper playoff runs. He's out as manager in a decision being described as mutual. Mattingly had a .551 winning percentage in five years (446-363). There was talk he'd be traded to the Miami Marlins, who reportedly have interest in Donnie Baseball.

Tom Brady Calls Coca Cola 'Poison for Kids': New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady called Coke "poison for kids" during a radio interview Monday. While defending his personal exercise and diet guru Alex Guerrero, who has been called a "glorified snake-oil salesman" in the media, Brady said, "You'll probably go out and drink Coca-Cola and think,'Oh yeah, that's no problem.' Why? Because they pay lots of money for advertisements to think that you should drink Coca-Cola for a living? No, I totally disagree with that. And when people do that, I think that's quackery. And the fact that they can sell that to kids? I mean, that's poison for kids. But they keep doing it." (Pepsi is the official soft drink of the NFL.)

Fantasy Premier League, Week Seven: The Premier League begins early Saturday with seventh-place Crystal Palace visiting West Brom. FC Gallifrey's back atop the Spofiship with a 75-point week, topped only by an 87-point explosion by new second place team EAV FC that should be remembered in song. This feat was accomplished by having Alexis Sanchez (11.1m) as captain on a week he scored 20 points (3 goals, 90 minutes, 3 bonus) and a front line of Olivier Giroud (8.8m), Graziano Pelle (8.0m) and Jamie Vardy (6.6m) who put up 25. There's a lot of carnage on the injury front, with Vincent Kompany (6.3m), Yaya Toure (8.9m) and Callum Wilson (5.8m) all out and Christian Benteke (8.3m) doubtful -- and that's just my team. Sigh.
