Kentucky Will Face Kansas

'Given that Kentucky's squad is mostly waiting for the NBA draft, that sounds about right.'

And hopefully for Kansas fans they will be too distracted by agents and dollar signs to actually show up tonight. As a realist, I have no realistic expectation of beating Kentucky; but as a KU fan I have to believe that anything can happen.

GO HAWKS!

1976 Newspaper Article: Death and Football

As a life long Chiefs fan, I have never heard of Stone Johnson. Of course, I wasn't alive at the time, but for the organization not to recognize the event more publicly, and permanently is a disservice to him and the sacrifices that players make for the game.

Chiefs fans are well aware of Joe Delaney, a promising running back who played for two seasons before a tragic drowning death in 1983. His death, while noble, heroic and tragic (he was attempting to save 3 children) was not football related and doubly saddeniing in that he didn't know how to swim. Delaney's number 37 while not retired, has not been used since.

How many other stories are there similar to this out there?

Greg Ostertag Seeks NBA Comeback

Greg, baby; we loved you at KU, they loved you in Salt Lake, but this is a cry for help. Conditioning was never your strong suit. What makes you think you can run the floor any better at 38 than you did when you were in your twenties? If this is about the money, I'm sure someone in Salt Lake would be happy to offer you a 9-5 job. Don't do it man.

Sandusky Was Teaching Boys How To Shower

What I meant by my original comment was: You have got to be f-ing kidding me. If that's his defense, he will die in jail. Good riddance.

James Harrison Suspended for McCoy Hit

@Debo -

Are you f'ing kidding me?!?!?! Harrison not only took the extra step, he had the time to consider: do I make this hit or not? He did, and there's consequences for his actions.

James Harrison Suspended for McCoy Hit

Harrison should be suspended for the remainder of the season. Given his penchant for violent cheap shots; and his utter disregard for fellow players, he has no place in the NFL. Hard hits are part of the game; but shots like he dealt to McCoy should be prosecuted.

No Charges for Bernie Fine

@beaver - The explanation I heard in one interview for the Secret Service being involved is that they are very good at tracking data back over time.

They will be reviewing all of the media that they took from his house, his hard drive, his financial records etc. They are going to try to build a record trail back to him and the remaining accuser.

I think ultimately anything they find will be handed over to another responsible agency, they just haven't said who that might be yet. I thought it was strange too. The Secret Services' edict is protecting elected officials and Treasury enforcement. I also think that this potentially muddys the chain of custody of any evidence they might collect.
