Welcome New Users: I wanted to take a moment to welcome a few of the new people who registered to use the site recently. Hello to tonybrainard, sapo, fastgate, blazerjim, and preacher81. Old timers, please be kind and help them along. New folks ... my recommendation is to take some time to read the site before jumping in head first, and check the FAQ, the Guidelines and other parts of the wiki. If you have any questions, you can click my username to see how to reach me and ask any questions you may have.

Other IM Options?: I just noticed that ICQ and AIM are the only options for instant message on our profile pages. Can that be expanded or should I just add them in the open "Blurb About You" section? The listed IM options are like having a Friendster or MySpace page ;)

All My Children ... or posts: I went to find a post I *think* I made many many years ago only to find that clicking the number of \\\"links\\\" I had post all time only returns recent links. Is there a way to display every post we have ever made? This isn\\\'t even asking about my locker room interview from 2005 that is still MIA. Also ... Seriously? Still with the ////////// displaying?

Did Troy Play Dirty?: As many of you know I am a Steelers fan. But I have always prided myself on being fair. In other words I never automatically absolve players from teams simply because they are my team.

A coworker of mine is a die-hard Patriots fan. This afternoon when I came into work the first words out of his mouth were that he no longer had an respect for Troy Polamalu. Not because of the (debatable) punched fumble... he said that didn't matter ... but because he said Troy kicked at Patriots players after "6 or so" plays were over. He says he saw it himself and that it was all anyone on Boston radio stations were talking about.

I watched every down, and watched NFL TV most of the day on Monday and saw no evidence and heard not a single talking head discussing it.

I assume if it is true he will be fined. But I was wondering if other Patriots fan truly saw evidence of Troy's "dirty play"?

Obviously these accusations are bothering me. But if there is evidence I will be the first to admit I disappointment in Troy.

I know there are a bunch of Patriots fans here. Can you point to specific plays if you agree?

Formatting: I was having trouble with the width of the comment/posting field today on a 12" powerbook.

The ads are overlapping the comment/post field. I have to maximize the browser window and still can barely see the editing buttons or the grab to resize the text field manually..

Championship Sunday: There's a good chance I will have my laptop open while watching the conference championship games this afternoon. So I invite others to sit around the campfire and/or sit in on the IRC channel.

Google Ads in Gmail: I am starting to notice that most of the text "ads" items being shown to me in my gmail (above the archive, report spam, etc buttons) are for threads on SportsFilter.

Sigh: I miss my personalised user page on which I spent so much time. First my locker room interview goes poof and now this.

MetaFilter Social Explorer: pb mentioned the Social Explorer in MetaTalk and thought it might be of interest here. For example, here is a list of people on MetaFilter who list themselves as "also on" Sportsfilter: http://www.metafilter.com/contribute/socialexplorer.mefi?sid=23

Missing Link?: Why am I not seeing this thread under January 25 anymore? It doesn't appear to be closed, but it also isn't showing up on the front page. I checked in a few browsers. Man, I hope it is just that I am tired and am missing something.

Wiki Reminder: Just a reminder that the site does in fact have a wiki and we are working on it. I have recently installed the Bad Behavior extension to help curb the rampant spam and *hope* that will help. I have also played with the look and feel of the wiki so that it looks more like the rest of SportsFilter. Lastly, I have added the FAQ and the Guidelines to the wiki, with the idea that the original versions on Sportsfilter.info can be redirected to the wiki. Everyone is encouraged to sign up for a wiki account (please use your SpoFi username) and to add/edit content in a responsible manner.

Soccer coaching tips?: I don't know who asked, or when they asked, but I do recall someone seeking advice here in the Locker Room on coaching soccer (girl's?). What I do recall was reading the excellent advice members gave. There is a similar question on Ask Metafilter, I wanted to point out in case folks were inclined to help.
