Kobe Playing Mind Games?: - Kobe hoists one shot in the first half of a pivotal game against a hated rival after being accused of shooting too much in previous games. He finishes 3-13 for 8 points in a 102-85 loss to Sacramento. What's going on? Is this:

A. Kobe was shackled by the previously horrible King's defense.
B. Kobe was tired of hearing how he shot too much, so he decided to turn the tables on the anti-Kobe's.
C. Early free-agency value benchmark?
D. Wanted to prove that he (not Shaq, Karl, or Gary) is the Lakers biggest superstar.
E. If you don't like the way I play, I'll take my ball and go home whining.

Does this spell disaster for the Lakers, or are they destined to win regardless? Or were they going to lose anyway?

Mavs set to sign Frenchman: -- but, should they not tinker with the good thing they've got going now?

More importantly, who should be traded? What sorts of teams are looking to make a move? What are your local newspapers talking about?

What does your team need to make a playoff push?

Should TWolves trade Kevin Garnett?:

This writer thinks so. I'm not so sure. Their history of being knocked out in the first round has been well documented. They had draft picks revoked due to the Joe Smith fiasco. They can't seem to yield a continually healthy team. They have problems attracting top talent to Minnesota.

That said, if trading KG is the only way, what is the best deal? What team could come up with enough contract dollars to match his? What trade would make sense?

McDyess goes down.: Antonio McDyess went down with a fractured kneecap Saturday night -- the same knee that he had surgery on last year. He came to New York to be the low-post presence the Knicks had been lacking since Patrick Ewing was good.

Are the Knicks cursed? Do they stand a chance of making the playoffs? Or is this just punishment for making the rest of the league watch boring 82-79 games where Kurt Thomas is treated like a Hall of Famer?

John Stockton will be back this season.: But does anybody care? Are the Jazz relevant? They aren't fun to watch, so does that make them dead-weight to the NBA marketing machine?

Or am I just tired of hearing Bill Walton talk about how 'this is the way the game is supposed to be played'?

Knicks pursuing Van Exel?: The article states the Mavericks haven't been interested in trading Nick Van Exel (their sixth man) for Kurt Thomas and Charlie Ward (throw-in).

Am I crazy or does this trade sound like a no-brainer for the Mavs? And what the hell is NY thinking? Are they trying to get worse and poorer? Are they intentionally trying to take on salary cap space?

Blazers and Spurs swap role players.: How do Antonio Daniels and Charles Smith fit in on the Blazers. Does Whitsitt just get bored easily?

Does Portland have a plan to win at all?

Mavs sign LaFrentz for 7 years, $69M.: As a Mavs fan, I still have to ask, 'Was anyone else bidding against Cuban?'. Why was a fourth (mostly overlooked) option on a team paid so well?

Do you think this will be the piece that pushes the Mavericks into the Western Conference Finals? If the team assembled can't do it, who else (that's available) could be added that would?

Cavs trade Miller for Clips Miles.: But does this mean that Donald Sterling is going to ruin this (extremly talented) team, too? It seems that the Clippers are easily one of the most loaded teams in the league right now, but you never take them seriously because of their management. Do they stand a shot in the upcoming years?

Who, besides the Lakers, really does have a shot?
