Fraze, you really think the Chiefs can score 17? I don't think the defense can pull that off, and the offense sure as hell ain't going to do it.

The USA gold rush is on....

I could almost see your point till the last comment, Drood. That said, regardless of the country of origin, there will always be homerism in sports. It defines the nature of sports. If you want to brag on your team, by all means you have the right to post something. I agree with Sttel Town. If a post pisses you off, skip it.

The Voting Results Are In

I think your Royals example may be a touch off base. Soria has a 1.62 ERA, 44 k's aganst 17 walks, and has converted 23 saves in 25 opportunities. I think he deserves it, and I think quite a few Royals fans who are only casual baseball fans overall would watch.

I know we've had this discussion before, but either jg or lbb convinced me that Caddyshack is more a movie about a country club rather than a movie about sports. Don't get me wrong, it's one of my all-time favorites. Also, I vote for The Natural and Remember the Titans.

Upon further review, He's out!!!

Sure, there are several die-hard Cub, Yankee, Red Sox, Cardinal, Dodger and other old school franchise fans, but most of today's modern American sport fans just can't live with the plodding pace of MLB, replay or no. I can't possibly explain to you how vehemently I disagree with this statement. My team is terrible, (Royals) but I still watch them every night. (Woot! Five game winning streak!) I also know a large number of people in this area are the same way. Sure some of them only watch during the summer because it's the only sport in season that remotely interests them, but most are avid fans.

Tiger Woods reportedly to miss rest of season

Grum got it right. I broke my right ankle on the opening kickoff of a football game in high school. It was during the playoffs. I knew something was wrong, but finished the game. When I took off my cleats (high tops) after the game, I really knew. Ankle swelled up like a balloon. Ouch.

I have to admit, I follow women's softball more than the average bear because I used to coach. But this is a great story for a couple of reasons. First, the VT softball team chose to play as a tribute on the anniversary of those who died in the tragedy of last year, as opposed to the rest of the school completely closing down. Second, Tincher, the starting pitcher was one of the last players cut in the tryouts last year, so this was important to her.

I'm not saying it was his lawyer alone, but you think it didn't start somewhere? I don't know how reliable the Daily News is, but I was a former sports writer, so I understand how much pressure a paper can put on a writer to create something and write it as such that no legal issues can come of it.

Joey, if you think those "unnamed sources" have nothing to do with the plaintiff's lawyers, I would beg to differ. And yes, I read the link.

My smart ass response to this is because this is all conjecture brought on in part by a lawyer trying to defame a man who brought a defamation suit against his client. There has been no proof offered, and until there is, I will show no respect to this "story." Sorry if I offended anyone.

McCready is also someone who was jailed a few years back for drug-related reasons. She's a loon. I remember that story, being a Country fan, and she went completely bonkers. I think she's the singer that was married to Superman from Lois and Clark at some point.

Where do ya suppose a southern Califonia kid goes for sushi in Kansas City? There's a pretty decent place in the strip mall behind the Wendy's right by Johnson County Community College. And I'm sure there's some good places on the Plaza. On the Missouri side, I would have no idea. I try not to go there. On topic, I'm just glad the Chiefs stayed away from him. Our defensive backfield is terrible, but he definitely would have not fit in KC.

The Ten Worst Number One Overall Picks

In the year Elway, as well as several others qb's that made it big, (I think Jim Everett was one) the Chiefs drafted Todd Blackledge number one and he didn't make the list. I have to call shenanigans. They also picked Percy Snow who promptly got in a moped wreck and broke his leg, while drunk. Neither lasted two seasons. I still can't watch a game where Blackledge is a commentator.
