Are you ready for some (weird-looking) football?

definitely interesting. seems like the ball would HAVE to come out a few seconds after the snap or else the QB would get creamed. i guess having the extra QB in the backfield gives you the option of a screen or lateral if everyone is covered.

Terrell Owens is a sweet, sweet man.

well, at least he's proven he has a fraction of a soul. though as an eagles fan, i'm obliged to remain unwavering in my disgust and hatred for t.o.

Judge Sides with Redskins

IMHO, "Redskins" is the most derogatory, offensive and unacceptable sports team name in our country. It should really be changed.

Can someone please tell what Boston has done to earn all this amazing sports karma?

Crooked ref claims NBA fixes games

Regardless of fixed games, (which is not surprising) - I think the officiating is absolutely atrocious in NBA games, to the point where I think it is ruining a beautiful, exciting game. The disparate differences in how games are called is ridiculous, but how games often have no action - just a constant stopping-and-starting.

It's not even certain he'll be re-instated, right?

Tejada tells team he’s 33, instead of 31.

Thanks holden, for saying that better than I could. It's certainly an issue, but there's respectable and honest way to approach this story...not resorting to shock "investigative" journalism tactics.

Tejada tells team he’s 33, instead of 31.

i thought ESPN calling him out on camera during an interview was a pretty low blow.

Barry Bonds indicted on perjury, obstruction charges

The worst part is that Barry is being scapegoated for something that dozens, if not hundreds, of other MLB players are likely guilty of as well. The scandal is only beginning. It will take baseball over a generation to recover from this.

But Will It Be a Good Use of a Timeout

I agree that he'd come off better or more even-handed if he wrote from more of a 'suggestion' vantage point rather than asserting his opinions as fact. But Easterbrook just does the sports writing because he likes to - it's not his main gig - so he has nothing to lose by defending his opinion to the death. I also think that his columns are the type of sports journalism we rarely see on a national level. Most of the really strong opinion stuff stays on the local level. I appreciate the fact that he's going against the mainstream and not letting the Pats off the hook for what he perceives as a serious indiscretion being largely ignored.

But Will It Be a Good Use of a Timeout

I kinda think Easterbrook has a point. The Pats and the NFL are acting somewhat shady about the cheating affair, choosing to sweep it under the rug as quickly as possible. They're an amazing team, regardless - but I don't think his characterizations are entirely incorrect or unfounded.
