It'd be interesting to see if the effect on scoring, but 5 games is too small a sample. Each team was affected equally anyway. Also, I'd like to nominate the Billings Gazette for "Worst Online Article Formatting Ever".

I'd be surprised if that sort of thing didn't happen at more schools and in more sports (10'2" basketball hoops, etc.). And I agree with yerfatma's assessment of the Gazette's format.

Does it matter? The spot of the ball is so arbitrary and subjective in the first place that I doubt the extra 6 inches would really make the game that much more inexact.
