Mears Finds Victory Lane on Indy Sunday: Congratulations to everyone who had Casey Mears, J.J. Yeley and Kyle Petty 1-2-3 on their Coca Cola 600 trifecta. "I can't believe we're in victory lane,” said first-time winner Mears, whose family is more accustomed to celebrating after Sunday's other race.

I wish I had seen this race, not just for the winner but to see Kyle Petty in the top five, an event that I'm pretty sure heralds the apocalypse. But I watched the last half of the Indy 500 instead, notable only for terrible weather and Ashley Judd offering post-race color commentary like she was a member of the broadcast booth.

Several members of the Franchitti team clung to her like a third skin after he won the race, throwing down full chest-on-chest lingering hugs. When presented with that opportunity, I veer off to the arm-around-the shoulder that keeps a little of the mystery alive.

Casey Mears? Who cares? Thank you Ashley for wearing that wonderful sun dress at Indy, and deciding it didn't need a bra. Thank God for rain, lots of it. Judging from the post-race pics, I guess she left nothing to the imagination. BTW, congrats to Mr. Judd and everyone at AGR.

Really now guys - you are not restoring my faith in men who watch racing. Here I was starting to think you were not the neanderthals I was raised with who watch it.
