Give 'Til it Hurts: The Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, launched by Jerry Kramer, raises money for needy, retired National Football League players. "It's going to the guys who started football, not the guys who are making the money off it."

I'll tell you what is amazing....its the generosity of the American people. Just when we're recovering from donor burnout in the wake of Katrina,Rita,and the Tsunami comes this appeal. I wish them a lot of luck.

This really is an amazing and incredibly worthwhile program...especially given the way the NFL has a tendency to just brush off former players who really need help, both physically and financially. I hope people will realise that not every football player made millions of dollars playing and give a little to help out.
