Arena Building Pays Off in Orlando: Dear Orlando Magic management: All 15,448 members of SportsFilter strongly oppose the plan to build a new arena for the team in the near future. But we're open to per$ua$ion.

It is always important when buying someone off, which i get as the essence of this matter, to pay them with company cheques.

Wow, that is a lot of money to pay to keep someone from opposing your arena.

Orlando can afford a new arena for the Magic with all the money they pull in from tourism. I went to a game last year at TD Waterhouse (and will be there again in December to see LeBron James), and it's an awful place to see a game. Like Texas Stadium in Irving, which looks and smells like a urinal, that arena in Orlando is a stain on the league.

But we're open to per$ua$ion Hmmm, let's see now... $671,250 divided by 15,448 comes out to $43.45 each. Put my share into a fund to teach typing and English 101 to those of us who are challenged in those areas. OK, OK, put down the pitchforks and torches. I'm only kidding!!!
