Pacers new line-up, watch out for the Heat: Stephen Jackson and three teammates, Marquis Daniels, Jamall Tinsley and Jimmie Hunter, visited a strip bar and were involved in an alteraction where Jackson allegedly jumped on a car hood, fired gunshots "in the air" and was hit by a car. Two of the other Pacers also had guns in their cars, all with permits.

Woah, big fella... According to the story, there was an altercation inside the club, the players tried to leave, the patrons followed them. According to police, Jackson didn't jump on the hood, he was tossed on the hood. Slow down.

Gotta agree, SE. I'm no Pacers fan, but it sounds like gfinsf may be a little more wound up on this than seems warranted.

Link that works I think this warrants at least a raised eyebrow because of Jackson's involvement. Since the incident ends with 4-5 shots fired in the air and NOT into "a patron's body", the tragedy here is a little too much machismo, not enough maturity, and nothing else that would have us reading someone's obituary.

Stephen Jackson of the Indiana Pacers was slugged in the mouth, struck by a car and fired a gun in the air in self-defense outside a strip club early Friday, police said. Sounds like Jackson was the victim of an unknown assailant. I think it was this guy, looking for revenge.

It would seem that an NBA star could get a lady or two that he wouldn't have to pay for.

Bill, strippers and hookers ain't the same thing. Plus, nothing in the article said he paid for it, right?

These guys have money to waste anyway. They wanna be RapStars or Gangsters so they gotta go to the strip club and throw some $$$ around and carry their little guns. Otherwise they might lose their "street cred".

"My whole summer was focused on me getting better as a person, as a player and as a father," Jackson said in an interview last month on the team's web site. "Spending a lot of time with my kids and being focused on how they're doing in their situations has helped me be more positive in my life. It's helping me out." I guess Summer's over, huh Steve?

and firing off your Glock is so much more macho than a 911 on your cell.

Sounds like an average night for me. Go to the strip club, like the Bada-Bing, hang with my boys, get in a fight, get hit by a car and pop off a couple rounds. THAT'S how I roll!

More from the CBS Sportsline story: Officers found a small amount of marijuana in the passenger side door of Pacer point guard Jamaal Tinsley's car, police said. Officers could not determine the car's driver or to whom the marijuana belonged, so no arrests were made. Huh? I'm all for cops looking the other way if they find a roach or two. But do you really think us mere mortals would be treated the same if something were found in our car?

Like we all haven't squeezed off a few rounds in the air, Palestinian-style, after a night at the local gentlemen's club. Hell, just for kicks, I fired off an RPG in the general direction of the water tower after the homecoming game last night. Good times, good times.
