Coming Soon to EBay: Chris Simms' Ruptured Spleen: Chris Simms had his spleen removed after taking several hard hits during the Bucs-Panthers game yesterday. "Go ahead, vent your spleen," Tampa Tribune columnist Martin Fennelly wrote this morning to Simms critics. "At least you have one. But don't say this kid isn't tough."

Wow. He's tough alright, but perhaps not so smart. I hope he comes back strong, I admired his Dad's play for years. Perhaps a wake up call to Buc mgt to get a O-Line?

The younger Simms has had high expectations placed on him since he was big enough to throw his first pass, and he has always struck me, first, as just a good kid, and second, as a fighter. I believe if Tampa fans will have a little patience with him, they will find out what many of us University of Texas fans have known for quite a while, that there is no quit in him, and that he is intelligent enough to overcome whatever physical shortcomings he may have.

I think Simms' spleen wanted out of Tampa.

He's trying to escape. But he's being very wily in the attempt.

I would like to hear the trainers explain how Simms ended up back in the game. He looked a mess when he came out. What is the point of the trainer again?

Perhaps a wake up call to Buc mgt to get a O-Line? I thought that he ruptured it when he dove in for the touchdown? Anywho, I wonder if they're going to stick with the backup, or maybe call Jeff George to the rescue?

I admired his Dad's play for years. Phil had a great career but he is horrible as an announcer. I hope Chris gets better soon.

I think Simms' spleen wanted out of Tampa. His spleen needs a new agent because thats a helluva way to get out of a contract.

I think Simms' spleen wanted out of Tampa. Grow the F* Up! He showed more sack and grit than you will ever have. Or maybe you just think you are some kind of comedian of misfortune- save it for your job at the improv- never mind I will show up at your job and tell you that you undercooked my fries you POS. You may not like his play or his team- but he got hurt playing hard. Save your comments for the drug addicts and those that get hurt doing stupid off the field stuff. I bet you have some wise assed comment about Stingley and Utley as well. Lets hear those Mr. Smart Ass. Sorry I meant Mr. No Class.

You guys shut the hell up, Chris Simms' mom is obviously perusing the thread. Sorry, Mrs. Simms, just having a little fun.
