Why this year's French Open is so important: Excellently-written explanation on what makes particular styles work for different surfaces, as well as why the psychology of Federer v. Nadal is so gripping.

I tried to read it, but I couldn't get past the "cadre of specialists" without wanting to shout at it.

That's too bad JJ, you missed out on an excellent article. I watched that last Nadal-Federer match and it was amazing. Nadal just has boundless energy and Federer, while still amazingly great, shows his humanity on clay. I agree with the author that Nadal has a psychological edge over Federer but I think that Federer has enough class to overcome Nadal IF Nadal has a bad day if and when they meet in the final. Could happen, he's only 19 years old. I can't wait to see the final.

Great article! I suppose the language is a little pretentious, though. Some may say that about me, too...
