Now that BMW has finally entered their own car in F1,: is it time for them to finally enter the realm of MotoGP? Speaking of MotoGP, are we in the midst of a changing of the guard? There are many young superstars in the making, wanting to be the man to punt the current champ, Valentino Rossi, to F1.

Should BMW enter MotoGP? Why not.....Ferrari, Renault and McLaren don't make bikes, so go for it. Just don't let JV ride it...............

Should BMW enter MotoGP I've got a second hand R80. Anyone want to be the team manager and/or pit crew? I think we can win. We just need a sponsor.

Do they still have that lousy 500cc limit?

MotoGP has three classes: 125, 250 and unlimited cc. Although, 2007 will see a cap at the top level. I think they are going with 800cc. Here's the Wikipedia page on MotoGP. In all seriousness, I hope that BMW gets a bike in MotoGP. It would be interesting if they can challenge right away (somebody has to catch up to those Hondas). Also, I wonder if they could lure a big name or two to ride the bikes.

Lousy 500cc limit? Tell you what, stud, let's see any bike you care to name run against a 500cc two-stroke.

My original remark was in reference to the fact that NoMich and I couldn't actually enter our rather slow, largeish street bikes in MotoGP, not about whether those things are fast or not. Crikey, the R80 has a boxer engine, fer Chrissakes. Irony doesn't travel well, it seems.

Only several laps to go, out front with a very comfortable 4 second (and growing) lead, Rossi's Yamaha breaks down. Yikes! Great job by Marco Melandri to come from behind to steal the race from Dani Pedrosa after Rossi's breakdown. And thank goodness for Loris Capirossi and his Ducati. *Somebody* had to break up that stupid Honda lovefest! owlhouse: though our Boxers may be slow, they are nearly bullet proof.

BMW NASCAR style. Just imagine the stock car version after a weekend at Martinsville!
