Wild Playoff Hockey: For all those that said this series was going to be a fast playing, high scoring series - I think that was an understatement. The first game between these two teams was non-stop action and an emotional roller-coaster. I thought my Sabres were done for with 238 on the clock and they got a penalty. What happened? I guess Emery shows that in overtime, it is hard to make even the most routine save when you are pooping your pants at the same time

Holy sh-nikeys! The Devils got their asses handed to them today, anybody watch it?

I watched it all the way to the bitter end wingnut. I just hope it was because they were rusty from not playing for a whole week. Of course that's no excuse for getting outplayed in every aspect of the game.

I watched the game today. Brindamour is one of those guys that you definitely want on your playoff team. He was all over the ice. Dude's got almost as much hustle as he does ugly. I thought the first Ray Whitney goal was pretty good, but I didn't figure he'd get another. Man, was I wrong. There was no doubt that as soon as he stepped back onto the ice, he was going to score another. One of the announcers more or less said the same thing about 15 seconds before he scored his second goal. The Canes looked very, very good.

Ooohhhhhh my head...We got to the parking lot around 11ish this morning, started pounding the Yuenglings, went inside the RBC, pounded super large Labatts, yelled my head off, went to a local brew pub afterwards and pounded some awesome beers from there. Ooohhhhh my head... Those Padres uniforms are pretty cool.

Lots of people haven't seen my Canes, but they are a really legitimate team. I think that overall, they are far better this year than during their Cup Finals run. It all comes down to goaltending, though. Go Canes!

stealth man i am right behind you. I was sitting on the couch quiet i wouldn't talk or any thing i was just mad and let down. Then that first goal went in and i went absolutely nuts, my girlfriend (sadly an Ottawa fan) told me to shut up and was going to kick me out....until Ottawa scored again. But who cares we have Connolly so we're good. That was amazing though 11 seconds left score then 18 seconds in bang bang SCORE. Stealth man our team's finally going to take it. Oh and by the way I under estimated the 'Canes by a lot I thought sweep but i watched the game last night and I think we have 3 good series'.

Just wondering if anyone knows for certain, but were the last four goals (in 1:55) the fastest four goals in playoff history?

posted by elovrich at 01:52 PM on May 07, 2006

It might be the fastest four goals to end a game.

I think they were the fastest four goals. Those 2 goals in 15 seconds that was impressive.

According to the Official NHL Guide and Record Book (2001 edition): Fastest Four Goals, Both Teams: 1 minute, 33 seconds - Philadelphia & Toronto, April 20, 1976.

i can't believe alffy tried to tank last nites game (buffalo won 2-1)with a minute left...muckler needs to trade this bum to the wilds or the blues..so he can go home and play in the worlds..now that he's got his gold medal, he don't give a shit about stanley..this is embarrassing..

Alfreddsson's level of play definitely leaves much to be desired. When he bailed on the possible odd-man rush because he wasn't looking for the pass, I couldn't believe my eyes. A series that will probably be decided by defensive breakdowns in transition and the captain wants to go for a change. Shocking.

Thats exactly what Don Cherry was saying. Alfreddson needs to get interested in the series if Ottawa is supposed to win. He does have that big C on his uniform for a reason. What was with that in game one though, empty net and he didnt shoot it. If he shoots, Ottawa wins and could be up 2-0 for all we know. He doesn't shoot and now its 2-0 Sabres thank God. Let's go Buffalo, look for me on Tv tonight im right behind the benchs in my red jersey.
