I'm suprised the officials didn't call a jump ball on Kaman's privs... Both players had posession of the ball(s). Oh, and does that count for one or two rebounds on Evans' stat sheet? OK, now that I've had my chuckle. Evans is a dirty player, always has been, and the NBA needs to get guys like him off the floor. ANY player who is out there with an intent to injure is hurting your product. It will take a Reggie Evans or Ron Artest to take Kobe or LeBron out of the playoffs before the NBA cracks down on this, and then they'll wish they had done it sooner. This is reminiscient of when the NHL degenerated into a bunch of thugs who could barely skate. One or two bad boarding penalties on Gretsky, and that culture changed. Evans should be suspended for the first 40 games of next season. While they're at it, give Artest the same for the elbow to Ginobli's head. Any guy working a one year contract should have to worry that he can't get signed with a suspension over his head, and teams should want their guys on the floor if they're signed longer. This is not the WWF... If these tools want to behave that way, get in a ring with a guy who gets to do the same.
I'm surprised at the overreactions to this. Yes, he should be suspended, but if his suspension goes past two games, I'd be shocked. I'd give him one. Yes, grabbing someone's junk is a total playground move, and a no-no in the NBA. But as a defender, you don't go there unless you've been going back-and-forth with the same guy for 40 minutes already, and he's starting to frustrate you. I'm not saying Kaman did something similar, but it's part of the flow of the game to do whatever you can get away with that might throw your opponent off his game. This includes deeply insulting trash talk (as long as the mics don't pick it up, you're cool) or anything else. I'm amazed at how scared so many guys are of their own peepees. This wasn't a sexual move. It was a distraction maneuver. Anything for an edge, right? The old how's-yer-father might be over the line, but it wasn't a capital offense. Give him a game, and if he does it again, give him five.
give him five. No way, I know where his hands have been.
I thought it was funny. I thought Kamen's response was right on. I thought the one game suspension robbed me of a chance to see what kind of lunacy would next occur. Tickle, tickle!
No suspension at all. Just a fine and a don't-do-that-again. Go figure. Weedy, you may get your wish yet.
that's. f-ing. nuts.
now he's after Ginobili!
