Hoiberg Ends Career After Heart Surgery : The fear of playing with a surgically repaired heart wouldn't let Fred Hoiberg return to the NBA. His wife, Carol, and his four children — ages 8 and under — ultimately meant too much. "I think about the look on her face when I came to after being unconscious for two minutes," Hoiberg said. "I think about when I finally did come back, being in her arms and her saying, 'Don't leave me.'

Bloody hell! An athlete who has his priorities straight! That's unusual! Good luck to him!

Fred was a smart player and can probably stick around the game in either coaching or broadcasting if he doesn't want to be tied to the front office job. Good luck to him whatever he chooses.

Good, now the T'Wolves can start to breed McHale's hopefully-soon-forthcoming replacement!

Good for Hoiberg, at least he has the balls to look at his kids look at his wife and make a "real" choice for his family. Instead of moving his family halfway across america for a contract worth 1 or 2 million more, and say its the best choice for his family. Props to Hoiberg... At least he can say he played his heart out!
