Report: Kings part ways with Sean Avery: It appears Sean Avery's career with the Los Angeles Kings is over.

I've always liked this guy ever since he came up with the Red Wings, but he has some serious anger management issues. There's things that are personal, and things that are business. He can't seem to seperate the two.
Plus, he lied -- He swore that he wouldn't lead the league in penalty minutes!

257 minutes and you lead the league (and no one else is at 200). That's a long way from Tie Domi's 365 minutes a few years ago. It's fine with me that Avery is gone. As far as interviews go, Jeremy Roenick, Mogilny and Brett Hull were more interesting to listen to and less offensive.

i hope no one is dumb enough to hire this idiot..he needs to sit out a year or so..to go see the Wizard of OZ.. to get a brain and a heart..

Frankly, this is something I've been anxiously awaiting. Something had to be done with this guy, especially if you take a few other things into consideration. e.g., Ray Emery has had to be "taught" how to be a professional in this league. Don't fight. Don't wear a mask with a rapist on the front. etc. If other players in the league have to be tempered, then it is only fitting that Avery be addressed in similar fashion. Kudos to the Kings for cuttin' him loose.

Thats why the Wings let him go he has some issues and its a good move for the Kings to do the same

Poor guy will now have to spend more time with Elisha Cuthbert.

Tell this ''tough guy'' to come down to the South Bronx and some 12 year old girl will kick his dumb ass. Anger management issues=bullsh*t. He just hasn't met the right guy yet and he won't in the NHL. They're protected in hockey by the zebras. Out in the street no one is going to protect his sissy ass.

Don't wear a mask with a rapist on the front Where did it say in the article about that?

Joromu, that's probably a bit much, dude. Still, I can't fucking stand Avery either. As soon as this was announced, some fool over on the Bruins board at Hockey's Future opened a thread about picking him up for next year. Yeah, great idea. There are jerks that I don't like, but who I would still love to have on my team (Tucker, Barnaby, and so on). Avery, on the other hand, isn't even close to being someone I'd want to be on the team I root for. Guy can't keep his mouth shut, and rarely knows what he's talking about. Didn't he call Laraque a racial slur, too? He's an ass.

Maybe he can go back and complete 9th grade now.

These bozos are well protected by the officials in a ''fight'' so as no one gets hurt. It is a gimmick to get the ''fans'' in the seats. The NHL goes through the motions when it deems necessary to look like they are trying to do something about it. But the fact is that it puts money in their pockets and it gives those without any real talent a chance to make a few bucks. The only real losers are the fans.

Good move for the Kings to get rid of the guy. When you constantly put your team shorthanded by taking stupid penalties, it's time to go. And on top of that, the Kings penalty killing team was shitty. Avery is a decent skater with some quickness. If he would pull his head out of his behind and play like he's got some sense, he might be an asset instead of a liability to a team.

These bozos are well protected by the officials in a ''fight'' so as no one gets hurt. Ask Nick Kypreos how "protected" he was when the last fight he was in ended his career (and unfortunately started his new one as a hockey "analyst"). But the fact is that it puts money in their pockets and it gives those without any real talent a chance to make a few bucks. I've always thought that these two guys were no-talent hacks.

Kypreos, the future hall of famer???? What ''career''??? Give me a break. How many times have you seen the zebras jump in when one guy down and is at a decided disadvantage and is going to get pounded into the next century. No such help in real life.

Chara and Allison would disagree with you. As would that one hockey player that took out a drunk at his wife's sister's wedding or something but I don't remember who or the details and I can't find an online story about it. Hell, so would these guys And, besides. South Bronx? Try growing up in Moose Factory. BTW, I think your keyboard is broken. Looks like it keeps getting stuck on "?".

Let me be the first to throw $1.25 into the kitty to start the "Fund to Make a Fight between Joromu and Sean Avery Happen".

Hell, so would these guys Ah, the good old days. But then again, Joromu, this is all staged to get the fans in the seats, right?(???????????) Here's my $1.25...

Ever since he got into the league with Detroit, it was obvious he wouldn't ever lead the league in anything but penalty minutes. He gets in way too many fights and has anger problems. Though, it was interesting to see if he would ever get over it.

Here's my buck and a quarter. They are fighting on skates, aren't they?

posted by Desert Dog at 10:19 AM on April 14, 2006

jomoru - I'm sorry, I'm not going to be polite about it. You know so little about hockey it's embarassing. Protected by the officials... Gimmick to get fans in the seat... You've never even come close to playing the game, have you?(???????) That aside - it is too bad that Avery has decided that being a side show is the way he wants to go. He'd be a good hockey player if he would just cut some of the crap. Hopefully, this is a wake up call. If not, he gets basically one more chance on a one year deal with a team like the Lightning or Panthers. This isn't like Theo Fleury, who had simliar anger issues but could score like a demon - Avery isn't likely to get multiple chances. The NHL seems to be like that.
