Shit hits fan.: Or almost did. Liverpool apologizes to Man U for fan behavior, including one known case where human excrement was thrown. I am speechless, thinking of the questions this begs.

Can I save any cretins the effort of pointing out that all European "soccer" fans are animals? It's an unsavoury story but an unsurprising one. The levels of rivalry and hatred between the two sets of supporters seem to be getting more by the season.

The Liverpool fans taunting Alan Smith, after the United player had broken his leg and dislocated his ankle was rather bad too. This comes in the same week that three English fans were stabbed in Italy, ahead of Middlesbrough's game with Roma.

And they say American fans are passionate/ruthless/violent/etc...man, that shows how much the Europeans take their "football" (although throwing 'shit' is not my idea of team support/anger)...

I'm glad that Liverpool is actively coming out and denouncing these things and apologizing for them. As a Liverpool fan, I find this behavior especially disgraceful, in light of Heysel and Hillsborough, the anniversary of which is upon us. I don't ever want us to be penalized, let alone banned from Europe or any contest again, just for the actions of a few madmen and shit-throwing monkeys.

Almost a riot at today's Fulham-Chelsea match today, too. Anyone see it? After the final whistle there was a pitch invasion, and quite a few fights broke out.

what kind of idiot throws his/her shit at players from a repected team which is Man. U.

More to the point, did they somehow smuggle a specially prepared turd into the ground, or did they... no sorry, I can't bring myself to complete that sentence.

We did what we could, we tried to brush people down Wonderful. I get shit thrown at me so they decide that they can brush me down. It just goes to show that animosity between Yankees and Red Sox fans is nothing compared to European and British soccer/football fans.

As a famous Brit once said, "Much Ado About Nothing." According to UK journalist Steven Wells, the real shame of the sports world are American cheerleaders.

Can I save any cretins the effort of pointing out that all European "soccer" fans are animals? Not all Europeans, just the Hooligans!

Fans who act like this are big "turds" themselves

So a guy threw some shit. Chimps do it at the zoo all the time and no one gets bent out of shape about it.

Anyone in their right mind will know it's only a few morons who are up to something like this but that knowledge won't keep Liverpool FC and their supporters from being painted as shitheads. Right or wrong, that's the way it is. I can just hear the terrace chants now...

How did they know it was human excrement? Did someone take it to a lab?

What utterly crappy behaviour, but nothing new. I don't understand how hooligans aren't arrested and thrown in jail for long periods for the harm they cause.
