Hidden: Reggie Bush's Bootleg Series: "You'll see some stuff on here," the Helix athletic director, Damon Chase, cautioned, "that is really pretty sickening." The New York Times (registration required) on Reggie Bush's high school highlight reel. "The tape includes eight minutes of cut backs, jump stops, spin moves and slipped tackles that have not yet been broadcast on national television."

I saw this before. There is some pretty impressive stuff there, but truthfully, he looks like he's playing against slow kids that can't tackle and are clueless about pass coverage. Yeah, I guess he is that damn good. But on some of those pass plays there wasn't a defender within 15 yards of him, and speed will beat ineptitude every time. It's one thing to see a kid doing Barry Sanders moves against other kids, but I'm much more impressed when I see someone like Sanders doing it against professional athletes -- the best of the best. We have to remember that nearly every pro athlete we see on TV -- even the no-name bench-warmers -- were probably stars on their college teams, and almost certainly stars on their high school teams. Still, the video was cool to see. We live in an age when everybody has a video camera, and I imagine we'll see more like these in the future -- I'm sure Wayne Gretzky had a pretty awesome highlight reel film when he was a kid too, he was scoring 20 goals in some games, but one wonders if there was anyone shooting film in the arenas? Cheers.

I guess fater that stinker of a Rose Bowl performance, they had to get something out to pump the kid up again. I with Red Terror, I've seen alot of kids that looked unstoppable in HS become NFL nobodies. He's going to see alot of guys who are faster and stronger than HS kids in the NFL. Remeber how quick etc. Peter Warriick was??

It is a shame that Reggie Bush has to go back to High School to show his abilities on the football field. Reggie didn't show his capabilities during the 'Rose Bowl' game and that is where we are today... Not back in High School. I think that the "Man", Vance Young, showed his capabilities to the Nation. His Rose Bowl showing is what a Real Trophy Man is all about...

" Double-post. Bannation, immediamente, por favor." Haha!

I saw on SportsCenter/College Gameday/NFL Live/etc. that the High School was looking to pocket a few bucks for their athletic department with sales of the DVD. How many people really want to pay to watch a high school highlight reel?

And, yes, that Vance "Man" Young really showed up at the Rose Bowl. Ahhh, Vance....

As a life long USC fan, I congratulate Texas. Young had an amazing game. But winning 2 championships in a row and barely losing the 3rd in a tight, fantastic game isn't too shabby. I'll take that over winning one every 35 years every time. And we all know USC will be loaded to the hilt again next year, so for those of you Trojan bashers, the hits just keep on coming. By the way, Vince young is a great COLLEGE player, but he will be just another version of Kordell Stewart or Tommy Frazier in the pros. Reggie Bush will be a star in the future.

Do we know if Reggie was trying to be the Number two in the N.F.L. draft? Perhaps he wanted for Young to go first. Somethging to think about!
