No coach rises, falls on his own: He thought he could do it all by himself, and he can't. No one can. Is that ego, delusion, incurable optimism -- or some combination of the three?

When I saw this headline, I thought it was another Mariucci story. Talk about being an island. Nothing but incompetents around him.

I always thought it was a little premature for skin fans to welcome gibbs back as the savior. One man can only do so much, and he had been out a while.

One man can only do so much, and he had been out a while is saddled with a crazed midget of an owner. Fixed that for you.

Parcells has done ok with jerry jones, and gibbs knew who owned the skins, wasn't a surprise. Sounds like a built in excuse to me.

A coach is only as good as the people around him. Rocky Bleier once said that the "Steelers won 4 super bowls despite of Chuck Noll, NOT because of Chuck Noll." BILL COWHER...ARE YOU READING THIS?

I find it interesting no mention of Andy Reid. If he would let his offensive coordinator actually call plays we might be sitting a little prettier. I love him but I think he wears too many hats.

I always thought it was a little premature for skin fans to welcome gibbs back as the savior. My best friend is a rabid Skins fan, and he will not...repeat, WILL NOT speak ill of Gibbs, even last year when it was apparent that Brunell suffered from floppy arm and Ramsey was the logical choice at QB. He still won't complain about Gibbs, even though they're out of the playoffs. Otherwise, he's a completely rational person, but when it comes to Gibbs, he's at the front of the line for Koolaid.

Whoulda thunk that Patrick Ramsey would ever be a logical choice for quarterback?

Well, given Brunell's performance last year, Ramsey was the sweetheart of D.C. My buddy and I were at the game against the Bengals last year when Ramsey came in off the sidelines, and the roar that swelled up in FedEx Field was truly impressive. Before Gibbs finally yanked Brunell, the Skins fans were chanting "Ramsey...Ramsey...Ramsey" over and over again. How quickly they forget.
