Martz Out For Season: Its offical - Mike Martz is now out for the full season due to health complications.

Nope, much worse: 49ers. I probably shouldn't be so glib, but really, it's not like the Rams have lost their starting quarterba... Oops, I did it again.

I believe Martz has coached his last game for the Rams, whether or not his health improves or not (hopefully he recovers). He'll latch on with another club, if able, as an offensive coordinator. The guy can be a good assistant, but obviously not the main man. Just like Gregg Williams, who couldn't seem to pull things together as head man for the Bills, but remains one of the top defensive coaches in the game. With the exception of a very brittle quarterback and some impact defensive players, the Rams really aren't in that horrible shape. Good coaching would improve them greatly.

As Martz goes, so have the Rams. Neither one has a good heart right now. Hope the next coach appreciates having Steven Jackson around (and, to a lesser extent, Marshall Faulk).

John Shaw certainly hinted on the local news last night that there was no guarantee Martz would be back next year even if he's healthy.

Seriously, why doesn't Steven Jackson get 25 carries a game. The guy is a beast and can pop a big one at any time. Martz being out may be a blessing in disguise for the Rams since his in-game coaching has really hindered the team in recent years.

Martz being out may be a blessing in disguise for the Rams since his in-game coaching has really hindered the team in recent years. It's hard to get 25 carries per game when you're constantly having to dig your way out of a whole. If our defense would actually show up on a regular basis then we could establish a running game. Martz was a great offensive coordinator but just couldn't handle the whole deal. We miss Lovie Smith.
