Holy Goals: When he wasn't being the head of the Catholic church, apparently the late Pope was a major football fan.

This makes me like the Pope a lot more.

Julio Iglesias was a good goalkeeper, and apparently Osama Bin Laden is a lifelong Gooner. Make of it what you will...

Cool read... I am actually very sad about the Pope... All the coverage about his life makes me wish i had made an effort to go see him or something.

Dude played hockey as a kid, too. He was a goaltender when he played in Poland.

I wonder how good he was... He was still skiing when he was in his late 60's...

The Pope rocked, actually. I mean come on, football and hockey? The old chap was a dude! Stories suggesting he used his papal staff to hit slap shots across St Peter's square should not be taken lightly.
