"See you in court, brother.": Barry doesn't sound happy about reports that sprinter Tim Montgomery testified that Bonds received steroids from BALCO.
Basic Rhetoric 101: argumentum ad hominem. ...a logical fallacy that involves replying to an argument or assertion by addressing the person presenting the argument or assertion rather than the argument itself.

In case anyone is curious, here is how things have proceeded against Bonds: (as copied from here) 1) The investigation started because somebody who had met Bonds briefly while working out at Anderson's gym and claimed to have heard discussions of steroid use. That informant - Novitsky 2) As the investigation continued the feds utilized an "inside source" to get information on what professional athletes were using...that source...Novitsky 3) when they searched BALCO, Conte supposedly walked up to one of the officers and told him all of the people he had supplied. that officer - Novitsky 4) repeated leaks to the press, and every mention of bonds is on reports filed by one person - Novitsky Oh, and one more thing: Basic Law-talking-thing 101: Hearsay is inadmissable in a criminal court case.

Well, given recent events, it seems like Montgomery is toast. So why's he fingering Bonds? If you're an athlete accused of using performance-enhancing drugs, I don't think there's any such thing as a plea bargain. So what's going on?

grum, I hear you. It's just a pet peeve of mine when someone ignores the accusation and attacks the accuser. But in this case, everyone KNOWS what he's going to say ("I don't use [insert drug here]."). He's got a legitimate complaint about WHO is saying things about him, and discrediting the source also helps discredit the statement. If I were to suddenly tell the press "Vice-President Dick Cheney told me that President Bush likes to kick puppies and punch nuns.", I'm pretty sure Bush's people would start their defence with "Who the [expletive deleted] is grum@work?" So why's he fingering Bonds? You got me on that one. Except, WE didn't hear him say that. What we have is an anonymous source supposedly leaking a document that may have been created by Novitsky, which claims that Montgomery supposedly said that he heard Conte say that Bonds uses some performance-enhancing drugs.

Skot - heh. Montgomery reportedly testified to a grand jury A statement made to a grand jury seems to be more credible than a statement made to a gaggle of reporters. But then again I absolutely hate Bonds.

I think Conte is smarter than alot of people think, and possibly could've been planting the seeds of his contingency plan a long time ago. Montgomery is told by Conte blah blah blah. Montgomery then repeats blah blah blah when questioned by Grand Jury. Conte tells investigators blah blah blah. Viola! Instant corroboration. But then again, if Montgomery's testimony includes this claim, the leak should be in big trouble.
