Amatuer Night: What happens when you get a BBC sports reporter and put him in the ring with the WBU light-middleweight champion?

If the WBU light-middleweight champion is alowed to hit back, the BBC sports reporter gets the shit beaten out of him.

Good story - the guy's no George Plimpton but at least he gave it a shot. You ever have those friends where after a Tyson fight where the loser lasted 30 seconds and got a couple million, your friend would go "Shit I'd get in the ring with a boxer for one minute, take a shot, go down, collect my dough"? Not me, man. I'm way too pretty to ever let anybody rough me up.

Pretty funny: A thought flashes through my head - what happens if I put him on the canvas? Would that make me the WBU champion? It is a thought that stays in my mind for approximately a third of a second, the amount of time it takes Tak to land a punch just above my eyes. In professional terms it is no more than tickle. In Tom terms it is a hammer blow.

I'd always been someone who guffed on about going into the ring with Tyson and taking a dive for a million - until I heard Prince Naseem Hamed (not someone given to underestimating his own abilities) very candidly saying "Tyson? Put it this way, if he let me hit him just once, with my very best shot I'd probably knock him out... but if he hit me, even with only about 85% of his best shot, I'd probably be dead." After that, I sort of kept quiet.
