I've expected something like that to happen to Joe or Burnsy for quite some time now. Like Khadri said, they're big boys. If they're going to challenge you, you have to protect yourself, and the way to do that in hockey is to immobilize the stronger hand by getting a solid handful of chest/shoulder and hold them off. The magnificent beards those boys sport hang to just the right level for that protective hand to latch onto a tuft. And as Khadri can tell you, once you get a grip, only a fool would let go for the sake of protecting another dude's beard.

Looks like Chucky is back with the Raiders. 10 years/$10 million? Wow

Need to see what Gruden's staff is going to look like.

There will be times when I'll miss watching QB Camp. I didn't see it often but was intrigued by it when I did see it.

I can't tell whether Gruden has a respectable second act in him or not. A lot of good coaches and managers have not been able to make it happen.

He doesn't want to end up like Earl Weaver or George Seifert. A reasonable benchmark might be Dick Vermeil's run with the Chiefs. Steady upward progress from mediocrity, becoming above average overall, with one really good year.

Mark Davis may have made a fundamental mistake, though. He should have considered hiring Tony Dungy first, then bringing in Gruden.

I'm sorry, the reported contract is for 10 years/$100 million

For the folks that paid attention to his QB Camp over the years, did he seem to be able to spot good quarterbacks? Or what?
