I'm following CFL preseason game news, as one does. A story on CFL.ca mentions "Reginald Begelton finishing with a 25-yard catch-and-run for the major."

I'm assuming that "the major" is some kind of Canadian synonym for touchdown? Where did that come from?

From Glossary of Canadian football in Wikipedia:

major or major score

An alternate term for touchdown

I didn't know that. Living with the shame of ignorance. Now I have rouge on my face (or so it appears)*

Calling it a major implies that other scores are minor. I won't let a single be treated that way.

Not sure what's more impressive, Curry or the gif.

I think LeBron deserves *some* credit. He didn't lose Curry until after Curry reappeared.

How deep does the rivalry run between your favorite team vs your team's archenemy? If you're a Michigan fan and Ohio State delivers a crushing loss to your side in football, do you hold a mock funeral for your team? In Pakistan, if they get hammered by India, you betcha they hold a funeral for their team.

I always figured a good business to open in the sub-continent would be an effigy factory.
